    It's not cynical. It is pretty obvious that his behavior since 1/6 is not typical Trump behavior. It's been much more scripted (should I say almost presidential, for once). It's either that he is following the advice of Kushner and co (most likely), or he has realized himself that the direction he took before 1/6 was leading to a lot of headwind, even with many of his supporters. As I said, damage control.

    I see. And why there weren’t lots of troops here when ton of Republican voters gathered next to the Capitol 2 weeks ago?

    I’ll tell you why. Violence, rioting, looting and such is expected of Democrats: no one expected this **** of Republicans, and the Capitol police got caught with their pants down. The fault is theirs.

    It was his nature and corruptness. He apparently gave the overthrow of our government a try, but failed either through incompetence or insufficient support. And, no, that has yet to be proven...stay tuned. In the end...he had no choice. Did you expect him to take on 25,000 armed soldiers?

    He was required to leave when Biden was inaugurated, not before. As for the speech, I deplored ut,it, as I deplored Sen. Schumer threatening the Supreme Court justices (who at that point had not made any rulings) with reaping a whirlwind. What do you suppose he meant.

    There was no insurrection. There were a few nuts, as a percentage of the millions who voted for Trump,, and far fewer than your guys, who burned down Minneapolis and firebombed a few police stations and tried to burn down a federal courthouse because da racism.

    There was no insurrection, and if you call that motley mob of idiots an insurrection, Trump did not direct or encourage them to enter the Capitol, much less violently.

    He was supposed to leave today, not on the 6th. Today. And he left today. On schedule
