    LOL - so YOU say!

There are those who propose that schools could be opened safely under various conditions.

But, that doesn't mean there are resources available to bring about those conditions.

And, I don't see that work being stated as a precondition.

Keep in mind that not all firefighters are career; volunteer firefighters in many jurisdictions to not receive pensions or compensation..

    This is true.

But, there is a catch, as states CAN slice retirement benefits for all new employees, and in some states for all who are not yet vested.

That's a great trick! Promise great retirement in order to not pay more salary. Then cut the benefits for all but current vested employees!!

Instead, I wish states were more interested in the actual education - attracting strong educators and allowing them to build a strong education system.

I'm just suggesting that if you had something to say, you would say it.

Volunteer firefighters are the best - no doubt about that.

We still do need a professional fire fighter corps in our cities, of course.

"Attracting strong educators" is not a union priority. "Protecting current educators" is.

Depends upon what they teach. Black people do have a harder time of it--not every black person, of course--but it isn't because of "white privilege."
White kids pretending to be slaves? Absurd. No responsible teacher would do that.
    Okay.
Want better teachers? Raise the pay.
    :roflol:
You'd have to find administrators who know something about computers.

(I taught computer science to high school students and adults, and teachers how to use computers in instruction.)
    Doing what?
Lessons aren't teachers lecturing to students. Egads.
    Huh? This doesn't make sense.
Canadians rank better than Poles or Norwegians.

This is just nonsense. Our elected repreentatives have control of the budgets for their states.

ALL expenditures benefit someone, and there are lobbying groups (not limited to unions, very obviously) for ALL those expenditures.

And, teacher's unions don't have lobbying dollars that come CLOSE to what other lobbies, such as corporate lobbies wield.

The idea that teacher's unions have so much power that they (as opposed to all the other lobbies) can bankrupt the state is just plain silly.

If they had that kind of power, they wouldn't constantly lose on salary demands, having to take retirement benefits that state negotiators cram down their throats as if it were a fair trade.

ALL those cites agree with what I said.

I don't need more evidence for my side.

Why are you blaming teachers, firefighters, etc? If you don't promise a good pension, you'll have to pay them more up front.

Teachers' unions, and other public sector unions, are critical contributors to Democrats' campaigns. In return they get state-bankrupting benefits.

I don't blame them. My point has been that the existence of public sector unions enables this collusion.

    LOL - sorry dude.

Your gross overestimate of teacher's union powers is just plain hilarious.

And, even if they had that, it would be NO EXCUSE for state failure to manage their budgets.

You have not even STARTED to show anything that could be considered collusion.

    Excuses, excuses.

No "precautions" will ever be enough to tear the teachers away from their lazy "distance learning" lifestyles.

Because teachers are all about the teachers, and the "Petri dish" brats be damned.

You're so wrapped up in your disgust for teachers that you can't even tell when your own cites deny what you claim.

So nice recovery! Just sprinkle more hate on teachers!
