You just want your racist fascist senile hero to appoint a bunch of justices so you can destroy our freedoms. We will not let you. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was against it as is any sensible American. Why don't you people move to Haiti and ruin that country?
Oh NO your freedumbs!!!! What was it you said. “Tough” As for y’all preventing it, I am sure we will all be terrified of y’all breaking in another federal building and smearing feces all over the wall.
How do 80 million Americans vote for this clown? We knew then what he wanted to do with our country. Let 20 million foreign nationals vote in our elections. Expand the supreme court so his senile retarded self can appoint a libo-fascist majority there. Destroy the entire bill of rights. Who votes for that?
Congress could, but if there's a court packing strategy then Republicans will pack the court back with conservatives and on the dog chase goes.
That was y’all’s last response when you didn’t get your way. Strange how that works Calling everything you don’t like fascist means you don’t understand the word.
Democrats could make a Republican congress almost impossible with a few — completely constitutional — changes. You didn’t answer the question though: Can you understand why liberals (or anyone not conservative really) could be upset about how that conservative majority happened? Republicans refused to even allow the process to occur with one, citing they should let the people choose, even though the people did — twice. The second retired under unusual circumstances The third was rushed trough with an election aweek away, the people spoke and by a significant margin decided this is not want they wanted.
The more political power plays are made, the more the precious 'democracy' is damaged. I think we're both aware of this right?
Why are you unable to answer the question? Do you frequently respond to questions with another question? If one party manipulates the system do you really expect the other side to “play” by the ethical standards that were previously expected?
Imagine if Trump did this at the start of his presidency? "Our democracy is in danger." Etc. Disgusting.
He didn’t have to. Republicans had already stacked the court prior to his “election” and the second was already in the works.
If something has worked for 152 years why change it? What has the Supreme Court ruled on that is so offensive to liberals?
Because it isn’t working, it has become a highly political body instead of a constitutional one. There should be no partisan games to stack the judiciary and where they are roadblocks should he enacted. The federalist society is a good example of extreme partisan manipulation of our court system.
Ironic considering it was Reid that first used the nuclear option. Also ironic in that during the Trump years Democrats filibustered more times than Republicans did during Obama's first 4 years and demanded that the filibuster stay, and now they're calling for it to be gotten rid of. Democrats always accuse Republicans of the very things that they do themselves.
Prove this statement. Just claiming that X justices are conservative does not prove anything either. What are their rulings? In total. Not just your pet peeve ones.
For ONCE republicans had a little foresight. Despite the media narrative, and the democrats hysteria ... every one of Trump's 3 appointees is a centerist. I don't think it's possible to improve on the courts balance, and it's really obvious that balance isn't what Pelosi wants.
McConnell's reasoning at the time? It was important for the Senate to "give the people a voice in the filling of this vacancy" by waiting until the new president took office.
Schumer used the filbuster hundreds of timed between 2016 - 2020. Chuck's Senate minority holds the record. Pelosi targeted the house minority's ability to use MTRs ... because they worked, and dems crossed the aisle to compromise on several bills. (D)s don't want and now don't need (R)s to pass laws or spend tax dollars.
The only way that they are going to get it through is if they get rid of the filibuster (not likely since Manchin has already said he won't go for it). And there's the possibility of a Dem voting against it. I don't believe that all Dems would be for this. Majority sure, but there are still some good ones left.
What has the court ruled on that has caused liberals to feel threatened? I don’t see them playing politics I see the left wanting the court to be more progressive to fit their narrative. The court should be non partisan. Show me where the court has ruled for conservatives rather than liberals? Biden creating a commission to study the court by only liberals and that isn’t partisan? Really?
