Sure, if in your limited capacity to think, believe getting tazed, pepper sprayed, and thrown to the ground is your best option, you should be just like him.

There should be very few armed police in America. A massive armed police presence is a very unAmerican approach to law enforcement.
IMO, traffic police should not carry firearms, and traffic stops for minor violations should end. Just send a summons to the owner of the vehicle with a link to the video documenting the violation.

By "everything he could" you mean by getting back into the car? Really?
This is about race. Is it ALL about race? No. Was he killed because he's black? No. Was it an accident? Probably, but to say race isn't a factor is disingenuous.

Where are you going to find all these unarmed people who are willing to put their lives on the line everyday against the criminals who want them dead?
97 Officers have been killed in the line of duty so far this year. Best of luck with that thought.

What happened here that makes you believe his race had any impact?

Is it more difficult for blacks to update their registration?

Was his warrant not been issued if he was white?

Would police not have attempted to arrest him?

By “everything he could” I mean failure to maintain his vehicles legal operation while having an active warrant and then fighting with the police.

I don't know what you're talking about but my point is the LT did comply with the police and go tazed, pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground. That's what compling gets you. It's a no win situation for people of color.

Why would he resist arrest just to sit on the front seat and use a phone? He's still going to jail if he does that. It's painfully obvious what he was doing, and his own mother told him NOT to do it!

I think it is kind of disingenuous to act like these 97 deaths had anything to do with “criminals”.

51 of them are from COVID.
    8 are from car/motorcycle crashes.
    1 is from 9/11 illnesses.

Actually it isn’t disingenuous, it is outright dishonest

Yes. There are a lot more:
    upload_2021-4-14_11-58-34.png

Two more to be specific if you are looking at deaths by gunfire. There is also assault and stabbings that can be directly attributed to criminals.

It is just pathetic that you have asserted I am lying for citing data because you are throwing out data you either didn’t read through or were purposely misrepresenting to push your FALSE narrative.

    Try again.

His actions certainly contributed heavily to it.

Not really though. He got pepper sprayed because he refused to get out of the vehicle after being ordered to repeatedly. Also, I don't think he was ever tazed. They threatened to taze him at one point, but didn't follow through.

If you're going to harp on precision, you should try to model that behavior yourself, lest you come across as a hypocrite.

This Murderous Cop has to PAY. ("Accident" or not).

    Definitely, Prison Time.

Although, I would have no objection to her serving her time in protective custody.

In any event, this Kim Potter (a disgrace to law enforcement) needs to live with this STAIN for the rest of her life.

Her actions reflect on the integrity of every police officer in the country.

    Once again:

What kind of a Clueless IMBECILE (referencing this Public Figure Kim Potter) can't tell the difference between a Taser and a Handgun?

And, how did this aforementioned Clueless Imbecile ever get a badge and a gun?

Brooklyn Center, MN must have really scraped the bottom of the barrel.

That sort of thing happens when an organization cares more about their employees' genitals than their competence.

I personally think that what we're now trying to say is holding the police officers to a higher standard than that of a criminal. Should she really face a prison sentence for mistakeningly taking her pistol instead of her taser? There's got to be a better resolution then to just throw the officer into a jail cell. To me, her having resigned should be sufficient.

No, it’s not because she mistakenly took out her pistol, it’s because after she did that she killed a guy.

Cops incompetently kill people they shouldn't on too regular a basis. My impression is that this has continued, at least in part, because there aren't severe enough consequences for doing it.

By pulling the trigger on what she believed to be her taser. If she had taken and used her taser, it would have been a perfectly legitimate and lawful response. Considering she believed to be acting within the law, and her intention was within the law, I could even pose an argument against involuntary manslaughter.

    https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/609.205

First of all, it's indisputable that the one who created the unnecessary risk wasn't Ms. Potter, it was the driver. If the driver got out of the car, there wouldn't have been a need for a taser, let alone what ended up actually happening. So the first element is already unquestionably broken.
Then there's the question of 'consciously'. If you could prove that she 'consciously' reached for her pistol, you would have had an argument for a murder charge. But the fact that they went with manslaughter proves that mens rea doesn't apply here, they know she lacks intent and deliberate forethought.

It was a traffic stop in the middle of the night, sure she should be able to tell the difference normally but unfortunately, she wasn't able to do so. But that to me, doesn't make her culpable in this accidental death.
