It's amazing the lengths women will go to when they WANT to have a baby. After 18 miscarriages, woman who had a baby at 49 shares her story of hope "I never allowed photos when I was pregnant because I assumed I would lose the baby and I didn’t want that sad memory," Warneford said. "Each loss left me devastated. All my hopes, all my dreams... my whole world would just fall apart. It never got easier." Then, at age 49, it happened. After 16 years of devastating losses, Warneford gave birth to her son, William, just shy of her 50th birthday. The UK-based writer and her husband, Mark, 69, used a donor embryo as they had done several times before. So this baby wasn't even biologically related to her! This woman may as well have just adopted. But apparently she had a womanly instinctual desire to have a baby that had grown inside her. "When William was placed in my arms I felt like I'd won the lottery. I was absolutely euphoric," Warneford, now 53, recalled. "All the doctors and nurses were in tears because they knew my story." After 18 miscarriages, woman who had a baby at 49 shares her story of hope (msn.com) Now while this story is a little bit more of an extreme case, I think it's safe to say most women will go to great lengths to be pregnant when they want to have a baby, when they feel the time is right. This seems like it has little to do with troubles and obstacles, and more to do with the woman's time schedules and life planning. Pro-choicers often point to the trouble pregnancy brings upon a woman... but most of these same women WOULD go to extreme lengths later in their life if they found themselves unable to get pregnant. They likely will. Abortion, especially multiple abortions, increases a woman's rate of fertility problems later, as well as increasing the rate of miscarriages. Gee, I wonder if that woman in the story got an abortion. Maybe having to go through 18 tragic miscarriages was a result of the choice she made, earlier in her life. Wouldn't that be ironic?
. I was going to blow off another of your "Nothin to do with Abortion" threads when I saw that last bit of pure crap which, OF COURSE, you will never and can never prove. No, that's just a misogynist's wet dream....nothing to do with facts...
One study in China found that having an abortion was associated with a 25% increased probability of future miscarriage. Most of these women had only had one abortion. You can imagine what 2 or 3 of them might do.
Nearly 5.5% (80/1464) of pregnancies in the abortion cohort ended in miscarriage, compared with 4.0% (57/1427) in the reference cohort. So, not much difference. And I find it hard to believe that anyone who wants to destroy women's right to their own bodies really cares...
Yeah... maybe you're not that proficient at math. 5.5 percent is 37 percent more than 4 percent. Maybe you're saying the risk of any miscarriage in the first place isn't all that great and women don't have much reason to worry? Also don't forget women will often go on to have more than one pregnancy. So if the risk of having a miscarriage during pregnancy is 1.5 percent specifically due to a past abortion, then the risk that woman will suffer a miscarriage that was caused by her past abortion might jump to 3 percent if she goes on to have two pregnancies. Maybe 6 percent is she has two abortions and then goes on to later have two pregnancies. You see what I'm saying here. It could easily be much more than 6 percent.
I see what you are saying....that somehow this relates to women's right to have an abortion....and it doesn't. Lots of thing cause lots of things....So what?..... it's still a woman's right to choose just as you have a right to choose what to do with your body.....and misogynists hate that...
Can you relate this story to the fantasy at the end of your post: "but most of these same women WOULD go to extreme lengths later in their life if they found themselves unable to get pregnant. Wouldn't that be ironic?""""" As usual, finding a point is impossible...
So you will support proven measures for reducing unwanted pregnancies such as compete sex and relationship education in schools and open availability of a wide range of birth control options. And where unwanted pregnancies do inevitably happen, the availability of safe, effective and early abortion one of the valid options.
If the measures will actually reduce pregnancies (and not just do so at the cost of more STDs), then yes, I will. But I will point out that there are many of these supposed strategies purporting to reduce pregnancies that actually do the opposite and increase them. Handing a 13-year-old girl a handful of birth control pills and telling her to "have at it" is pretty much a recipe for an unwanted pregnancy to begin.
Let me point out that an abortion of a 6 week old fetus could end up killing a 16 week old fetus years down the line. The woman might not think she is killing a baby at the time, but she might be. Her decisions now could have consequences in the future. Oh well, I guess you think that is an "acceptable risk". Her decision, right?
Yes, HER decision....what don't you get about the that fact? Explain...why do you feel it is any of your business...give a reason...anything... why do you care? Does it really bother you that women can make their own decision without any input from you? BTW, EVERYONE'S decisions have future consequences...it's still their decision NOT YOURS...
Uh, DUH, that isn't sex education... just a righties idea of sex education so of course it's wrong. ' And, this is funny, giving a 13 year old girl birth control pills DOES prevent unwanted pregnancies...don't you know what birth control pills do !!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOL
If she did have abortion/s and this was the consequence, that was her choice. No government interference needed.
You mean it's her choice to risk killing the baby at 16 weeks, just like it's her choice to kill the fetus at 6 weeks. Tell me, what if the baby that ends up getting miscarried is at 25 weeks? Still okay with that? Still okay with some 25-week-old fetuses dying so that the woman can have her sacred choice?
It's still HER choice....WHY SHOULD IT BE ANYONE ELSE'S ????? And, this is funny, giving a 13 year old girl birth control pills DOES prevent unwanted pregnancies...don't you know what birth control pills do !!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOL
Multiple abortions may have some effect and , Yes, women who want a baby will go through a lot...like the following which ALSO and ALWAYS has effects: Normal, frequent or expectable temporary side effects of pregnancy: exhaustion (weariness common from first weeks) altered appetite and senses of taste and smell nausea and vomiting (50% of women, first trimester) heartburn and indigestion constipation weight gain dizziness and light-headedness bloating, swelling, fluid retention hemmorhoids abdominal cramps yeast infections congested, bloody nose acne and mild skin disorders skin discoloration (chloasma, face and abdomen) mild to severe backache and strain increased headaches difficulty sleeping, and discomfort while sleeping increased urination and incontinence bleeding gums pica breast pain and discharge swelling of joints, leg cramps, joint paininfection including from serious and potentially fatal disease (pregnant women are immune suppressed compared with non-pregnant women, and are more susceptible to fungal and certain other diseases) extreme pain on delivery hormonal mood changes, including normal post-partum depression continued post-partum exhaustion and recovery period (exacerbated if a c-section -- major surgery -- is required, sometimes taking up to a full year to fully recover) Normal, expectable, or frequent PERMANENT side effects of pregnancy: stretch marks (worse in younger women) loose skin permanent weight gain or redistribution abdominal and vaginal muscle weakness pelvic floor disorder (occurring in as many as 35% of middle-aged former child-bearers and 50% of elderly former child-bearers, associated with urinary and rectal incontinence, discomfort and reduced quality of life -- aka prolapsed utuerus, the malady sometimes badly fixed by the transvaginal mesh) changes to breasts increased foot size varicose veins scarring from episiotomy or c-section other permanent aesthetic changes to the body (all of these are downplayed by women, because the culture values youth and beauty) increased proclivity for hemmorhoids loss of dental and bone calcium (cavities and osteoporosis) higher lifetime risk of developing Altzheimer's newer research indicates microchimeric cells, other bi-directional exchanges of DNA, chromosomes, and other bodily material between fetus and mother (including with "unrelated" gestational surrogates) Occasional complications and side effects: complications of episiotomy spousal/partner abuse hyperemesis gravidarum temporary and permanent injury to back severe scarring requiring later surgery (especially after additional pregnancies) dropped (prolapsed) uterus (especially after additional pregnancies, and other pelvic floor weaknesses -- 11% of women, including cystocele, rectocele, and enterocele) pre-eclampsia (edema and hypertension, the most common complication of pregnancy, associated with eclampsia, and affecting 7 - 10% of pregnancies) eclampsia (convulsions, coma during pregnancy or labor, high risk of death) gestational diabetes placenta previa anemia (which can be life-threatening) thrombocytopenic purpura severe cramping embolism (blood clots) medical disability requiring full bed rest (frequently ordered during part of many pregnancies varying from days to months for health of either mother or baby) diastasis recti, also torn abdominal muscles mitral valve stenosis (most common cardiac complication) serious infection and disease (e.g. increased risk of tuberculosis) hormonal imbalance ectopic pregnancy (risk of death) broken bones (ribcage, "tail bone") hemorrhage and numerous other complications of delivery refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease aggravation of pre-pregnancy diseases and conditions (e.g. epilepsy is present in .5% of pregnant women, and the pregnancy alters drug metabolism and treatment prospects all the while it increases the number and frequency of seizures) severe post-partum depression and psychosis research now indicates a possible link between ovarian cancer and female fertility treatments, including "egg harvesting" from infertile women and donors research also now indicates correlations between lower breast cancer survival rates and proximity in time to onset of cancer of last pregnancy research also indicates a correlation between having six or more pregnancies and a risk of coronary and cardiovascular disease Less common (but serious) complications: peripartum cardiomyopathy cardiopulmonary arrest magnesium toxicity severe hypoxemia/acidosis massive embolism increased intracranial pressure, brainstem infarction molar pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease (like a pregnancy-induced cancer) malignant arrhythmia circulatory collapse placental abruption obstetric fistula More permanent side effects: future infertility permanent disability death.
That's an excellent point you brought up. None of those seem to deter a woman WHEN SHE WANTS TO HAVE A BABY. The TRUTH is this is totally not about the side effects of pregnancy. This is all about the woman's timing. She WANTS to have a baby, just on her own timing. If she doesn't want to have a baby, she can go down to the county clinic and have her tubes tied.
Just pointing out that everything has an effect on a woman's body not just multiple abortions. Pregnancy does, too ( and MUCH WORSE than abortions), and you don't seem to object to women having multiple pregnancies... Ya, SO?? Did you have a POINT? ...or get an abortion...or do anything SHE wants to do.... Did you have a POINT?
What I am okay with is irrelevant. Using government force to push my beliefs is not something I will ever be okay with.
As government continues to use its force to push more things, for our alleged safety and collective social benefit, the dichotomy between the laissez faire policies on abortion, and everything else in life, will become more and more glaringly obvious.
Sure there is. We've been through how many on the Left want to force people to have vaccines injected into their body.
. When evil antichrist marxist revolutionaries took over Russia... one of the first things they did was to legalize abortion... the first in Europe to do so. A century later their evil antichrist cultural marxist spawn have legalized abortion on demand in most European countries. .
