Well, like I said, the woman's more than eager and willing to go through all that if she gets to have a baby that she wants, when she wants it. That should tell you something. If the woman absolutely doesn't want to go through that stuff then she would get her tubes tied, wouldn't she?
The "unpleasantries of pregnancy""??? Says one who was never pregnant nor will be nor knows anything about it. VERY denigrating to women who get pregnant and women in general...misogyny at it's finest to call the following "unpleasantries": Normal, frequent or expectable temporary side effects of pregnancy: exhaustion (weariness common from first weeks) altered appetite and senses of taste and smell nausea and vomiting (50% of women, first trimester) heartburn and indigestion constipation weight gain dizziness and light-headedness bloating, swelling, fluid retention hemmorhoids abdominal cramps yeast infections congested, bloody nose acne and mild skin disorders skin discoloration (chloasma, face and abdomen) mild to severe backache and strain increased headaches difficulty sleeping, and discomfort while sleeping increased urination and incontinence bleeding gums pica breast pain and discharge swelling of joints, leg cramps, joint paininfection including from serious and potentially fatal disease (pregnant women are immune suppressed compared with non-pregnant women, and are more susceptible to fungal and certain other diseases) extreme pain on delivery hormonal mood changes, including normal post-partum depression continued post-partum exhaustion and recovery period (exacerbated if a c-section -- major surgery -- is required, sometimes taking up to a full year to fully recover) Normal, expectable, or frequent PERMANENT side effects of pregnancy: stretch marks (worse in younger women) loose skin permanent weight gain or redistribution abdominal and vaginal muscle weakness pelvic floor disorder (occurring in as many as 35% of middle-aged former child-bearers and 50% of elderly former child-bearers, associated with urinary and rectal incontinence, discomfort and reduced quality of life -- aka prolapsed utuerus, the malady sometimes badly fixed by the transvaginal mesh) changes to breasts increased foot size varicose veins scarring from episiotomy or c-section other permanent aesthetic changes to the body (all of these are downplayed by women, because the culture values youth and beauty) increased proclivity for hemmorhoids loss of dental and bone calcium (cavities and osteoporosis) higher lifetime risk of developing Altzheimer's newer research indicates microchimeric cells, other bi-directional exchanges of DNA, chromosomes, and other bodily material between fetus and mother (including with "unrelated" gestational surrogates) Occasional complications and side effects: complications of episiotomy spousal/partner abuse hyperemesis gravidarum temporary and permanent injury to back severe scarring requiring later surgery (especially after additional pregnancies) dropped (prolapsed) uterus (especially after additional pregnancies, and other pelvic floor weaknesses -- 11% of women, including cystocele, rectocele, and enterocele) pre-eclampsia (edema and hypertension, the most common complication of pregnancy, associated with eclampsia, and affecting 7 - 10% of pregnancies) eclampsia (convulsions, coma during pregnancy or labor, high risk of death) gestational diabetes placenta previa anemia (which can be life-threatening) thrombocytopenic purpura severe cramping embolism (blood clots) medical disability requiring full bed rest (frequently ordered during part of many pregnancies varying from days to months for health of either mother or baby) diastasis recti, also torn abdominal muscles mitral valve stenosis (most common cardiac complication) serious infection and disease (e.g. increased risk of tuberculosis) hormonal imbalance ectopic pregnancy (risk of death) broken bones (ribcage, "tail bone") hemorrhage and numerous other complications of delivery refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease aggravation of pre-pregnancy diseases and conditions (e.g. epilepsy is present in .5% of pregnant women, and the pregnancy alters drug metabolism and treatment prospects all the while it increases the number and frequency of seizures) severe post-partum depression and psychosis research now indicates a possible link between ovarian cancer and female fertility treatments, including "egg harvesting" from infertile women and donors research also now indicates correlations between lower breast cancer survival rates and proximity in time to onset of cancer of last pregnancy research also indicates a correlation between having six or more pregnancies and a risk of coronary and cardiovascular disease Less common (but serious) complications: peripartum cardiomyopathy cardiopulmonary arrest magnesium toxicity severe hypoxemia/acidosis massive embolism increased intracranial pressure, brainstem infarction molar pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease (like a pregnancy-induced cancer) malignant arrhythmia circulatory collapse placental abruption obstetric fistula More permanent side effects: future infertility permanent disability death.
SO WHAT ? WHAT TF does that have to do with anything????? What does it have to do with you calling the damage of pregnancy "unpleasantries" LIKE AN OLD 19th CENTURY misogynistic bachelor. WHAT? WHAT does it "TELL"...That women are human who decide things and do things !!! WOW LOOK AT YOU , YOU FIGURED THAT OUT !!!!!!!!! You still don't/can't get that women can do what they want to do...yes, if SHE decides she can get her tubes tied OR if she decides to have an abortion she CAN DO THAT , TOO !!!!
I believe his/her point was that women DO choose. As always, it's you who denies that women choose these things.

You still don't/can't get that women can do what they want to do...yes, if SHE decides she can get her tubes tied OR if she decides to have an abortion she CAN DO THAT , TOO !!!! Wow , you are looking so hard for something to argue about you forgot to read the post of mine you quoted !!!! See the last part ? No? Then I'll make it even bigger and then maybe you can read it : """You still don't/can't get that women can do what they want to do...yes, if SHE decides she can get her tubes tied OR if she decides to have an abortion she CAN DO THAT , TOO !!!!""""" NOW, WHERE do I deny "women choose these things""??
FoxHastings said: ↑ Or get an abortion or do whatever SHE CHOOSES....,.do YOU deny her CHOICE? LOL, ya, like women do that all the time....what an asinine idea. Besides, women do what they want whether you deny it or not
Exactly. She is 100% responsible for everything which happens to her body. She has FULL BODILY RESPONSIBILITY. She is CHOOSING to risk a pregnancy.
FoxHastings said: ↑ """You still don't/can't get that women can do what they want to do...yes, if SHE decides she can get her tubes tied OR if she decides to have an abortion she CAN DO THAT , TOO !!!!""""" NOW, WHERE do I deny "women choose these things""?? WHAT in the post of mine you quoted says anything different ???? Are you just so angry you'll argue even when you agree !!!!?????
kazenatsu said: ↑ I would deny her choice to get intentionally pregnant and then abort for no valid reason.""""""" FoxHastings said: ↑ LOL, ya, like women do that all the time....what an asinine idea."" Care to show WHERE TF was rape mentioned in that exchange????? Are you just so angry you don't read the posts you quote???
Did you not deny that autonomy = responsibility? I may you confused with the other chaotic poster, but I could have sworn you did.
You denied that women deliberately expose themselves to a pregnancy. The only way that could be true is if they're raped.
Why can't you address the post you quoted??? The right of bodily autonomy (which you have no idea about) has nothing to do with "responsibility"...
NO, DUHHHHHHHHHH... I denied that women """get intentionally pregnant and then abort for no valid reason."""" as Kaz suggested... Do you know what the word " AND" means ??????
And there it is. You think women don't or shouldn't have bodily responsibility. Let me ask you again .. who SHOULD have responsibility for womens' bodies?
FoxHastings said: ↑ The right of bodily autonomy (which you have no idea about) has nothing to do with "responsibility"... LOL, you sure are desperate....you CANNOT show where I ever said ""women don't or shouldn't have bodily responsibility"" You just make things up because you have no argument worth spit. Why do you promote women being raped ????? Too funny that you have to ask....if I told you you would ask something like ," why do space aliens control women?""
So it should be easy for you to tell us, then. Who has responsibility for women's bodies, if not women? However if you agree that women do have FULL RESPONSIBILITY for their own bodies, then just say so.
I have said so many times....just because you didn't acknowledge it doesn't mean it didn't happen.. It STILL has NOTHING to do with the right to bodily autonomy...
So you're standing by your position that women don't have full responsibility for their bodies, yes? In which case, we can work from that premise - obviously. Now tell us who DOES have responsibility for womens' bodies (since you're saying women don't/shouldn't/can't or whatever), please.
It has EVERYTHING to do with. Autonomy without responsibility is no autonomy at all. If you claim that you are not responsible for your body, then by necessity someone else must be. In the case of women, who is that? Who do you think is responsible for female bodies, if not females?
