I don't understand your post, but I'll try to explain how I see things.

Trump's presidency delivered a heavy blow to the public image of the religious right, the religious in general, and the right in general. His die-hard supporters don't see his many faults, including his criminal disregard for the people he was elected to lead and protect. He was the president of the few who totally agreed with him, the rest be damned. I didn't like the Russia-collusion witch-hunt or the impeach-just-because hysteria, but those were peanuts compared to the damage Trump did. Although the polarization of the American society along racial, national, political and religious lines was well underway before Trump, he did everything in his power to deepen it and use it for personal gain.

Right now, the public image of the right in general, and the religious right in particular, is tainted by association because their members are perceived as Trump supporters. Anti-vaxxers are usually right-wing and/or religious, so they're also automatically associated with Trump. Manny advertisers are running away from anything that might create in consumers' minds a connection between their product and Trump's supporters, between their company and the deep political divide in the American society. They usually prefer to have their products associated with happy thoughts.

I agree in principle, but in today’s world of rampant social media and fake news sources, a lie goes around the world while the truth is still putting its pants on.
There seems to be a definite increase in the number of people who are truly stupid, ignorant, selfish and bigoted on all sides and in many parts of the world. And now they have the means to disseminate their lies, innuendo, rumors and fake news instantaneously.
I believe that we survive because there is a little bit more good than evil in the world and if the balance tips the other way, we are doomed as a civilization.

Seems to me that the apparently disproportional higher number of cases in the US is due more to severe under-reporting of cases in third world countries and dictatorships.

Raw data can be misleading.
Over 90% of the adult population in Wales are fully vaccinated. So less than 10% of the population who are unvaccinated people make up around 33% of covid cases.

 

There's a difference between "being likely to be hospitalized" - the term used in the study - and actually being hospitalized. The former is statistics, the latter is reality. I live in Israel, I read, hear and understand the news, I know most of those hospitalized are not vaccinated.

We aren't comparing the obvious are we. Unvaccinated who already had Covid with it 99% survival rate have better immunity than the Phiser vaccine which means they have better chance of no reinfection.
