Totally disagree. If I was in charge I would tell them to not let the door hit them on the way out. What are these high end stores going to do? Move to Tennessee? I am tired of taxpayers dealing with these issues. We already spend of ton of tax payer money on law enforcement and incarceration. I really think it is time to let the free market forces take over. If you are selling 10K purses and bags you need to provide levels of security. I am no expert but hire security personnel and make sure the doors a closed after each customer enters. Have an electronic lock that is opened by the security person as a customer leaves. This will eliminate snatch and grab. I have been in the LV store in Paris and all bags on display are secured by metal cables. They have appointments to see and try out expensive products. Bottom line hire a security firm and have experts come in and tell them how to make the business more effective. If a bag cost 10K and you raised the cost 5-10% that pays for a lot of security for the business. This should not be a taxpayer issue and as a taxpayer I am tired of subsidizing these companies security. I believe the taxpayers have already provided the necessary level of support.

Eight people? And what felony charges, they made it over $950 to be a felony and from what I have read these criminals watch how much they are stealing. And of course they ended cash bail so everyone will be back on the street and months later charges will be dropped because of the "sentencing inequities" that put more blacks in jail than white. Heck I heard Congresswoman Talibe this week call for letting all the federal prisoners out in ten years and getting rid of federal prisons.

This seems to be a problem San Francisco which is a city run by democrats.

They made the policy that permitted this.

We've been seeing videos for months where people are looting Walgreens and so forth because they're not allowed to stop them.

It's strange that this is coming from one of the most unequal places in the country and it's extremely on equal because of the voters there. And other places that share its inequality are Portland Seattle York there's a common thread here.
