No one should get banned. I hope this means the mean tweets are back though! AND it puts an end to that dumb flag of fake news on anything their blue haired support team do not like.
What is the point of being FU rich if you don't occasionally use the FU component. Anyway, Musk started Zip2 and the first ideation of what is now paypal so being in this tech world is not new to him. He wouldn't be doing this if he didn't have a plan to get a handsome return to sell out. That wouldn't happen by going with the flow. He will make waves at the company before it is over.
If he goes full FU, I mean...after how HORRIBLE the "progressives" have been while in power of social media, I wouldn't be sad about it. But my hope here is that with a moderate/center right person calling the shots being fair and reasonable will help the majority get the **** away from the left and move more to towards the center.
Musk is a free speech guy. He projected this move a week or so ago when he asked about it and then followed up that a new platform wasn't needed for it to happen. I just like the idea of him banning Biden. I am a slut for karma
Elon is a real nutcase compounded by growing hubris. I do respect his desire to focus his wealth on space exploration rather than wallowing in conspicuous consumption like the oligarchs, but I worry that his extreme eccentricity will doom him in the end. Would you really like to be stuck on Mars with Elon and his whims as your eternal ruler? Especially if he had armed security to back him up?
Everyone loves people they don't know until they get to know them. The Elon fanboys will eventually hate him.
When one individual, and there are many more now as compared to 50 years ago, can use money and influence to affect a majority of people/citizens, it speaks volumes and loudly and should concern everyone on the planet. One would have to hope (and pray) that that individual has the interests of the common good in clear perspective with a moral core that's centered in reality and fact. Musk is an eccentric, let us hope he can be trusted with the interests of all and is rooted in reality. The right loves Musk but hates Gates (and visa versa), are they really that different though when it comes to undue influence?
Ya it's not like most of the free world uses this one stupid platform for speech and these blue haired cat collecting asshats are in charge of that speech. What's the big deal, right? It's not like they are perpetuating a certain set of ideals and fostering the growth of bullshit narratives and ideologies that's become a cancer to our western society and democracy...lol I'm happy capitalism bit them in the ass.
I'm sure he's aware of that. This was a great first move though. He is now the loudest voice in the room.
One can only dream! And if Musk takes a controlling share and destroys the platform I would not shed one tear. I am just thankful that the progressive bullshit narratives that twitter perpetuates and controls on world events is going to be greatly impacted by his owning the largest piece of the pie now.
How would that be karma? Biden hasn’t banned anyone or called for anyone to be banned from Twitter. That wouldn’t be karma. It would be misplaced revenge.
I hope moderation on twitter is as powerful as you say, because I don't think it has a meaningful impact and you will be disappointed when Elon's 9% stock ownership isn't going to do anything at all.
Not for me!... But I like that he pulls the plug on extreme wokeness. And isn't afraid to speak his mind. Like, for example, Bill Maher.
Do you think people promoting "wokeism" aren't speaking their mind? Maybe we just like it when people who agree with us speak their mind.
I don't care if woke dipshits want to speak their mind. I care when they control the platform and the narrative. Example. "Trans women are women" If I argue that they are not. I am banned. Why? That statement is biologically false and not everyone agrees with it. Declaring it so and silencing all those who disagree is authoritarian. Never mind that it's asinine that Trump cannot be on the platform but ISIS or the Taliban can? Like it or not but Trump IS the 45th president. And he could very well be the 47th president. He deserves to be on that platform acting like the ass he is.
That avoids the problem. Twitter is a large platform which has influence. It cannot and should not be controlled by one ideology. Otherwise we end up in a bad, bad place. I agree. People should not use twitter or any social media platforms. But they do. If they do then we need to address it.
