No, I don't. You think the CEO's of some big oil companies are sitting around a board room deciding what the price per barrell is? Is that how you think it happens?

    Chevron's profit nearly quadruples

And that's why we pay high gas prices

They most certainly sit around the boardroom to think about ways to make the public bleed dry even more with made up sky high prices to make the biggest profits possible. The massive proffits they suddenly are making shows that this is going on.

They cannot lower prices themselves, since they do not determine the price per barrell.

So what do you think they should do?

sure they can, they won't though

Republicans lied to us and said American oil would be cheaper

the reality is, until foreign oil production increases, American oil will not lower prices

No, they do not have that kind of power.

You're making it sound as simple as printing a new price tag. By who? Chevron, Exxon, Dow, etc?

so American oil is not cheaper and is set by the global price?

the reality is, until foreign oil production increases, American oil will not lower prices

    American oil loves these prices

Stock market is in a downward trend, many have lost a lot of $, do you just tell them to increase the Nasdaq and problem solved?

The factors mentioned in the link I supplied you control the cost, and the very first one was the economy and the GDP, which is all in the sh!tter.

That is not denying the profits of oil companies are currently totally insane.
And it's all thanks to Joe the plumber paying for it.

It's crystal clear who is paying for it massively, and who is lavishly benefitting from it.
So it's totally fair point to raise by Biden, why oil companies got their businessmodel so poised to bleed Joe the plumber so dry.

Biden allowed 34% more drilling than Trump :).

FYI, having a lease does not immediately equate to drilling.

the FED dumped trillions into the Market pre-Covid under Trump - the bubble had to burst

during covid, Trump reduced foreign supply, that is why high prices now

nope, if the economy was in the sh!tter, we would not have inflation, we would have deflation - remember the gas Price when Bush trashed the economy, prices dropped

Oil prices were in the negative numbers then, so how do you think that has anything to do with today? You just can't help yourself but to blame Trump. Solutions are needed today and it's very different than it was then, which was the covid crisis.

doesn't change the facts of anything I said

Trump lowered supply during Covid, now that demand is increasing, supply is not there... which causes higher prices

    that is just the facts

    supply and demand

so you support it happening, you support the government drilling oil for us, to undercut big oil, causing competition in price?

I agree it won't happen, big oil owns enough in both parties, they would never allow it

It was great having a president who took immediate action needed to help our economy and workers. Trump did what needed to be done at that time. Now we need our president to do the same and he's asleep at the wheel and passing blame instead.
