Chevron CEO Says Biden Should Stop Criticizing Big Oil

Chevron CEO is right. In capitalism the goal of corporation is maximum profit and not welfare of citizens. The government has some power to put breaks on the run for maximum profits, but corporation have lobbyists who pay our politician to prevent it. To beg corporation 'please earn less to help American people' is stupid and ineffective.

 

Great questions. Progressives never can define the % of income taxed as a fair share.

 

Company "A" makes "$100B" in gross profit.
Company "B" makes "$100B" in gross profit.

Same "profit" right?

Company "A" did it on $1,000B in sales. A 10% gross profit.
Company "B" did it on $5,000B in sales. A 2% gross profit.

Are they the same profitability?

Which would you invest in?

Same with ROI and ROA, what is the return the investors are getting on their money? If it is not to their satisfaction guess what, the capital value of the company is going to fall and threaten it's existence no one will invest in them.

But I tell you even worse than this was the President of the United States speaking in public in a nationwide address blaming on and point the finger at and telling YOU do something about it not me towards the mom and pop convenience stories across the country. Where gas can already be a loss leader just to get people to stop and come in the store. I thought Biden was for the LITTLE GUY!!! And here his is trying to blame them for his problem.
