When does the State have an interest in making decisions for us? That’s what this is about. Nothing more. Nothing less. If you’ve read Clarence Thomas lately the answer is a lot. That itself should freak the hell out self proclaimed conservatives. The fact that it doesn’t reveals we’re not dealing with conservatives. The Republican Party as currently constituted wants our autonomy: wants the State—according to their whims—to tell us how to live our lives. It’s not hyperbole but merely a plain reading of Thomas. Roe is the tip of the iceberg. Come November a middle finger is all these extremist loons constituting the Republican Party deserve. Don’t get distracted!
"I'd love to know how you can detect pregnancy within 12 hours of conception though, that's a cool trick" Me too .. you were the one brought up pregnancy within 12 hours of conception .. how do you know this if you don't know if it can be detected ? Water getting over your head mate ? bit out of your depth ? You said abortion leads to death of a child --- that you can't figure out that this claiming abortion at the zygote(s) stage kills a child -- shows your lack of understanding of what you are saying. Clearly you do love fiction .. your entire post being one big sack of it .. don't know what the anti abort tropes you are parroting mean .. misrepresenting the comments of others .. Your position is crucified -- your claim that killing/"aborting" a single human cell would be killing a child .. a preposterous nonsense claim that you did not even realize you were making. but hey .. since you love fiction so much .. carry on
What Does the Bible Really Say About Abortion? - Freedom From Religion Foundation (ffrf.org) If you were to read the holy bible, there would be some verses that are against abortions, and I guess there are politicians that are bible thumpers that think and/or believe that abortions are out and out wrong. There have been churches that have been out to fight abortions and not have much luck on it. I may discourage it, but I don't think it should be outlawed the way it's going. They tried to ban gay marriage and it failed. Banning abortions would not be the right thing to do. We can't go back on it and should not do it. That's all for now.
Did you have a point in parroting out this stat ? How does this change the fact that anti-aborts claim killing/"aborting" a single human cell is killing a child .. or make this claim any less false/ridiculous/irrational.
Borrow from their family Borrow from their church. whatever it takes until they get back on their feet. There are many ways.
It seems much more likely that the ruling was leaked on purpose to give the purple-haired lunatics time to rage and threaten, and try to terrorize the justices into submission.
Not true - there are no verses that state or imply a prohibition of abortion. The opposite is true .. Abortion is comanded in some circumstances .. such as in the case of a Jealous husband suspecting his pregnant wife is so via adultery. YHWH commands the death of children and fetuses on numerous occasions .. and enacts fetacide into law ... should some in a town be worshiping other Gods. So ... it turns out that the Thumpers are not very good students of the Bible. The Pope's claim that the soul arrives at conception is preposterous nonsense .. one of those prognostications that turned out to be irrational in the face of modern science .. similar to the edict against Cats .. agents of the devil didn't you know .. spurring a rash of cat killing persecution and torture... Christ - wanted nothing to do with "Theocracy" ... render unto Caesar what is Caesar's .. do unto others what you would have done to you and vice versa .... don't do to others what you hate .. the founding principle .. of our constitutional republic So .. not only are these Thumper folks not good Bible Students .. they are not followers of Christ .. and not believers in Republicanism worthlessness x 3
I am pro life too, but I dont think criminalizing abortion will save lives. They are already talking about criminalizing contraception and homosexuality.
If you or anyone want to remain free, prosperous, and happy, in Gods country, you will conduct yourself appropriately. I'm not sure what you mean by religious fanaticism. Do you think that living by conscience is religious fanaticism? How is it hate for freedom to attempt to live worthy of it? If you think that doing anything you want and living lawlessly will beget a free, happy, and prosperous people, you aren't paying attention to what's going on.
We already have the crisis pregnancy centers up and running to assist the young mother and her baby assuming you all don’t fire bomb them. They and churches will help and for mother’s who can’t or won’t there is adoption services available. Red states will most certainly assist their faith based charities in these regards. And for the record, I am a licensed foster adopt parent
Why don't you feel that way about the mothers and fathers who create them? Actually they're not even deserving of the name mothers and fathers just people who participated in irresponsible sex and shirk their own responsibilities. If you can't feed it don't breed it. The government is not your baby's daddy. And by government I mean we the people who get screwed on taxes to pay for a child that we didn't screw to create
In my opinion, nothing will change. This ruling was all about technicalities. The democrats are desperate to politicise this issue. Outlook for the midterms hasn't been good for them for quite some time. They've already started their fear mongering campaign, trying to scare women. Everyone calm down, nothing will dramatically change and whoever wishes to get their abortion done will be able to do it within a reasonable time frame.
They don't have to try. It has been a political issue for 50 years, and the SC poured a barrel of gasoline on the fire. It certainly falls in "dramatic change" category. Its one of the biggest and most dramatic changes in a very long time. Every newspaper around the globe is talking about it.
After birth abortion? Progressives are already working on that. https://jme.bmj.com/content/39/5/261 Abstract Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus' health. By showing that (1) both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons, (2) the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant and (3) adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people, the authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled.
I don't know where you get your information on Bible thumpers not being very good students of the bible when it comes to abortion. I may have to do research on stuff like this. I suppose you do the same. So that's it. We have to tell these people that you can't go back on making abortion illegal. It just isn't done. Abortion is a part of the sign of the times.
Every one of them? Ha….you’re quite naive. Odd you would support increasing welfare state. Seem you’re for having more people dependent on the govt.
