The January 6 Committee pre-game show: 187 minutes of inaction

As been said many times, the Capitol Police and overseers Pelosi and ilk are at fault for allowing Jan 6 to happen.

 

And yet, they DID find facts. I mean, the ones who are most involved CONFESSED! It's on camera! If you missed it, you might might be able to find the hearings on YouTube. The ONLY one who hasn't confessed is Trump. But that doesn't matter anymore. The confession of his staff, attorneys and... even his family... is enough to convict. I'm sure they'll want to strike the best deal they can with prosecutors. But they won't get that by protecting the mafia boss.

 

This committee’s criminal investigation is anything but legislative.. why would Garland say it is the most important investigation in the history when it should be HIS investigation. And his previous investigation that his department did came up with a “no insurrection” outcome?

For nearly three hours, according to the committee, Trump watched Fox News as it broadcast live images of the Capitol being breached and the mob attacking law enforcement officers. That matched previous press reports about Trump’s activities at the time.

The committee shared testimony from numerous White House officials reinforcing the fact that Trump did nothing to reach out to law enforcement or military officials during this time. They also provided evidence that, during this period, Trump called Rudy Giuliani, and he called senators to lobby them to support his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

It's overwhelming to try to account for all the egregious acts of Trump's dereliction of duty and violations of his oath.

 

And that doesn't mean anything?

I already explained that the purpose of these hearings is legislative. So having information that the DOJ considers relevant enough to their investigation to request it, is a HUGE "means something". It means they have gone above and beyond what one would expect them to accomplish.

Look. Intentionally or not, this committee has accomplished much more than what we would expect from any Congressional committees. McCarthy's blunder by not appointing anybody to obstruct the process means that they have been able to do their job much more effectively than ANY congressional committee... probably in the history of this country.

Many many bills will come from this. Some will become law, some won't. But things that we never thought would need to be legislated, will now be in the law. Our democracy will be stronger. But, not only that, it has put out in the public any information that anybody will ever need to understand that Trump is a criminal. So when he's hauled off to jail, and anybody asks "why", there will be hours of footage, confessions by his own staff, his own attorneys and his own family, that will answer that question.

And this is great for the country. Because it will make us believe again that we still live in a nation of laws.

It's very similar, but I think McCarthy's committee had members of both parties and all were allowed to ask questions.

The article addresses the propaganda issue with what was Trump NOT doing or where he was NOT... big difference.... no one yet has put him anywhere let alone watching Fox.... unless we are to believe yet another book seller looking for 15 minutes of fame testifying and telling another "story" like Cassidy... no proof what so ever and never will be held accountable for making up a story under oath to Congress..Stephanie Ann Grisham. I honestly try to walk a mile in other people's moccasins but I just don't understand ANYBODY still defending him.


He knowingly told a lie and rejoiced in watching that mob hurt those officers and threatening our lawmakers.

That wasn't dirty politics.

It was pure evil.

Please tell us where Trump was and what he was doing after his speech… non of the articles so far answer that question? Do you know where he was?

 

LOL I find it interesting that they are worried about this 187 minutes of inaction when, during the George Floyd riots, there were hours, days, and months of inaction in many cities across the US, with law enforcement often times just stepping back and letting rioters riot, commit violence, burn down police stations, vandalize, steal everything in sight, and let rioters take over swaths of territory and turn them into lawless zones. And, when Trump offers help from the national guard, democratic leaders refuse.

 

Which is yet more proof that they weren't riots, but constitutionally protected protests.

Killing the Vice President, which Trump incited his armed mob to do, and could have stopped but refused to... is not constitutionally protected.
