That's right Brother Mitt - it is not good to forcing your pagan religion of yours on others . It would be good however, if you stop blaspheming Jesus .. putting words in the mouth of our lord and savior.

    One step at a time

Myths often have a grain of truth - misrepresentation and deceit does not change this Brother Mitt .. do be swayed by the dark side Brother Mitt. Just because the Bible contains myth, does not mean there is no truth in the Bible.

Do you now see how the deceit catches the deceiver .. Brother Todd see how the deceiver is caught himself in denial of God's word.

Now to the Trinity - typing out ABC on your phone does not turn one into the Logos unfortunately. Still waiting on Mitt to explain Solomon's Trinity .. one tough question to many perhaps..

I would suggest that the child sacrifice to YWHW - Solomon's Trinity would be El- Asherah - Baal-YHWH. Baal in this case is not the name of the God but the Title "Lord" So you have El The Father - Asherah (consort/mother) - and YHWH is the Sun.

In earlier days .. Hebrew Tribes had the El-Asherah-Baal Trinity - We know this from Canaanite Religious practice.. Baal was one of the Son's of El -- Some of these early peoples settle in the region of Edom - where they adopted the God YHWH - who was also also Son of El as per Deut 32-8 and Psalm 82.

YHWH was substituted for Baal in the Trinity in a process called syncretism. El -Asherah- Lord YHWH

Come now Mitt. Why are you going around telling others they are incapable to understand .. when the Log in your eye is so large ?

The Trinity of Solomon (EL - Father, Asherah-Consort/Mother, Baal-YHWH - Son) of course was polytheistic as Solomon was Polytheistic.. worshiping many Gods according to the Bible.

Why do you continuously seek to misrepresent the Bible Brother Mitt - this is not the Path of Light.

Don't know who tacked the "sola" on the fida, but you must have faith in JC to be saved. Good works alone can not do it, and the truth is, if you are truly saved thru faith then the good works automatically follows. The pharisaic shortcoming is that they thought you could find good thru good works, i. e. following the law alone, and for that JC soundly criticized them. You CANNOT buy your way to heaven.

Where does Jesus criticize the people doing good works ? I think you are mistaken and have things backwards as Jesus promotes works as the path to salvation in the Sermon on the Mount Matt 5-7 ..

Salvation is having faith in the Lord Savior Jesus Christ. God saves us by His grace when we believed and we can't take credit for this, it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

    We Read in Scripture:

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NLT

And with this faith in the Lord Savior Jesus Christ comes the good works and so it's essentially automatic so to speak, it's within having this faith. So one is not being saved by faith plus good works because by having faith the good works will follow automatically.

Let me try to make it as clear as I possibly can, say there is such a person who believes in God but doesn't confess/believe that the Lord Savior Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior. Believes that Jesus is really not what He is portrayed to be in the Bible as the Savior.

And so this person believes if they'll do as much good works as they possibly can in order to please God then they will enter Heaven one day. Well this person is going to be shocked when he/she learns they were missing having faith/belief in the Lord Savior Jesus Christ.

They did not confess their sins, nor did they ask the Lord Savior Jesus to forgive them for their sins they have committed in their lives.

So sadly this person will not receive salvation and not be saved. Their sins are still with them because they failed to have faith in the Lord Savior Jesus Christ who would have forgiven them and removed their sins if only they had believed in Him, had unquestioning faith in Him.

Ok Talon thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it and I hope I made myself clear in my explanation of how one receives salvation from Almighty God.

Sorry Gift but as usual you're not making any sense again. No such thing as "Solomon's Trinity" that's so unbiblical Gift... obviously it's made up by you...your lies & deception being in full display here.

For there is no where written in Scripture that backs up what you're saying.

But anyway first let me bring up Scripture that paints the true picture regarding King Solomon from the passage of 1 Kings 11:1-13.

And also I'm going to present Scripture where we read God forbids His people the Israelites to worship false gods like Molech, forbids them to perform evil acts such as human/child sacrifices to these false pagan gods.

So let's begin reading Gift and please put your reading comprehension skill hat on...there will be a quiz later.

    We Read in Scripture:

    Solomon’s Many Wives

11 Now King Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides Pharaoh’s daughter, he married women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and from among the Hittites. 2 The Lord had clearly instructed the people of Israel, “You must not marry them, because they will turn your hearts to their gods.” Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway. 3 He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines. And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the Lord.

4 In Solomon’s old age, they turned his heart to worship other gods instead of being completely faithful to the Lord his God, as his father, David, had been. 5 Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech,[a] the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 In this way, Solomon did what was evil in the Lord’s sight; he refused to follow the Lord completely, as his father, David, had done.

7 On the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, he even built a pagan shrine for Chemosh, the detestable god of Moab, and another for Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8 Solomon built such shrines for all his foreign wives to use for burning incense and sacrificing to their gods.

9 The Lord was very angry with Solomon, for his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. 10 He had warned Solomon specifically about worshiping other gods, but Solomon did not listen to the Lord’s command. 11 So now the Lord said to him, “Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my decrees, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants. 12 But for the sake of your father, David, I will not do this while you are still alive. I will take the kingdom away from your son. 13 And even so, I will not take away the entire kingdom; I will let him be king of one tribe, for the sake of my servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, my chosen city.” 1 Kings 11:1-13 NLT

31 You must not worship the Lord your God the way the other nations worship their gods, for they perform for their gods every detestable act that the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices to their gods. Deuteronomy 12:31 NLT

10 For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering.[a] And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, Deuteronomy 18:10 NLT

21 “Do not permit any of your children to be offered as a sacrifice to Molech, for you must not bring shame on the name of your God. I am the Lord. Leviticus 18:21 NLT

After reading the entire passage we learned that Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines, many of them foreigners who led him into public idolatry in his old age, greatly angering the Lord.

The Lord had instructed Solomon and the people of Israel not to marry these women because they would turn their hearts to their gods but Solomon disobeyed the Lord and that's exactly what happened to Solomon, he turned his heart to their gods and away from the Lord.

We see that Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of Sidonians, and Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites. In this way, Solomon did what was evil in the Lord's sight, he refused to follow the Lord completely, as his father, David, had done. Solomon greatly sinned and rebelled against the Lord by worshipping these false pagan gods.

Ok Gift thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it to expose and correct the falsehoods you presented.

I asked you if Solomon believed in a Trinity -- and if so what was that Trinity - For this you accuse me of lying and deception. but as it turns out you are the one making things up and engaging in deception .. including deceiving yourself .. for it says right in the Scripture you quoted that Solomon worshiped other Gods..

YHWH - Asherah (consort) - and Molech are listed.. we know the Israelites worshiped Baal .. had El As chief God.

Is Solomon believing in El - Asherah - YHWH not a trinity .. Father - Mother - Son ? Just a simple Question Mitt .. no need to fly off the handle with the name calling .. you said you could answer tough questions ..

Sorry Gift but that's not Christian beliefs, now let me give you the Christian Biblical view/beliefs. The Book of Genesis did not borrow from any stories from the past. It was God directly telling Moses the true stories depicted throughout the book and Moses wrote down and recorded everything God had told him. And of course the Hebrews knew bits & pieces of the stories like the Great Flood of Noah that was handed down orally to them through the generations.

Here's a preface from the NLT Bible regarding the Book of Genesis.

Moses as we know wrote the 1st Five Books of the Old Testament, except for the final summary (possibly written by Joshua) of the Book of Deuteronomy.

We know that God and Moses spoke directly with each other. The first encounter was at the burning bush.

    We Read in Scripture:

    Moses and the Burning Bush

3 One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro,[a] the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. 3 “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.”

4 When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
    “Here I am!” Moses replied.

5 “Do not come any closer,” the Lord warned. “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. 6 I am the God of your father[c]—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.

7 Then the Lord told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live. 9 Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them. 10 Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”

11 But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?”

12 God answered, “I will be with you. And this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain.”

13 But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?”

14 God replied to Moses, “I am who i am.[d] Say this to the people of Israel: I am has sent me to you.” 15 God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh,[e] the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.

    This is my eternal name,
my name to remember for all generations.

16 “Now go and call together all the elders of Israel. Tell them, ‘Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—has appeared to me. He told me, “I have been watching closely, and I see how the Egyptians are treating you. 17 I have promised to rescue you from your oppression in Egypt. I will lead you to a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live.”’

18 “The elders of Israel will accept your message. Then you and the elders must go to the king of Egypt and tell him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So please let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord, our God.’

19 “But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand forces him.[f] 20 So I will raise my hand and strike the Egyptians, performing all kinds of miracles among them. Then at last he will let you go. 21 And I will cause the Egyptians to look favorably on you. They will give you gifts when you go so you will not leave empty-handed. 22 Every Israelite woman will ask for articles of silver and gold and fine clothing from her Egyptian neighbors and from the foreign women in their houses. You will dress your sons and daughters with these, stripping the Egyptians of their wealth.” Exodus 3:1-22 NLT

Well just for you Gift let me have my favorite ministry give you a very thorough explanation of what's going on here.

What similarities are there between the Gilgamesh flood account and the biblical flood account?

There are many similarities between the Gilgamesh flood account and the biblical flood account (Genesis 6—8), beginning most importantly with God choosing a righteous man to build an ark because of an impending great flood. In both accounts, samples from all species of animals were to be on the ark, and birds were used after the rains to determine if flood waters had subsided anywhere to reveal dry land. There are other similarities between the Gilgamesh flood account and the biblical flood account.

One major point of clear agreement is that a global flooding disaster occurred in ancient times. Portions of the Gilgamesh account (Chaldean Flood Tablets) have been found dating back to 2000 BC or earlier. Tablets containing the full story, however, date to approximately 650 BC, or well after the Genesis account (c. 1450—1410 BC). These Chaldean tablets, from the city of Ur (modern-day southern Iraq), describe how the Babylonian God Ea decided to end all life except for the ark dwellers with a great flood. Ea, believed by the Babylonians to be the god who created the earth, selected Ut-Napishtim (or Utnapishtim) to construct a six-story square ark.

During the mid-nineteenth century, this complete “Epic of Gilgamesh” (from 650 BC) was unearthed in some ruins at Nineveh’s great library, and the depth and breadth of similarities and differences became evident. Here is a more extensive listing of the similarities and differences:

    • God (or several gods in the Gilgamesh account) decided to destroy humankind because of its wickedness and sinfulness (Genesis 6:5–7).

    • A righteous man (Genesis 6:9) was directed to build an ark to save a limited and select group of people and all species of animals (Noah received his orders directly from God, Utnapishtim from a dream).

    • Both arks were huge, although their shapes differed. Noah’s was rectangular; Utnapishtim’s was square.

    • Both arks had a single door and at least one window.

    • A great rain covered the land and mountains with water, although some water emerged from beneath the earth in the biblical account (Genesis 7:11).

    • The Noahic flood was the result of a storm lasting 40 days and nights (Genesis 7:12), while the Gilgamesh storm was much shorter: “Six days and seven nights / came the wind and flood, the storm flattening the land” (from Tablet XI, trans. by Maureen G. Kovacs)

    • Birds were released to find land (a raven and three doves in the biblical account, Genesis 8:6–12; a dove, swallow, and raven in the other).

    • After the rains ceased, both arks came to rest on a mountain, Noah’s on Ararat (Genesis 8:4); Utnapishtim’s on Nisir. These mountains are about 300 miles apart.
    • Sacrifices were offered after the flood (Genesis 8:20).

    • God was (or gods were) pleased by the sacrifices (Genesis 8:21), and Noah and Utnapishtim received blessings. Noah’s blessing was to populate the earth and have dominion over all animals (Genesis 9:1–3); Utnapishtim’s was eternal life.

    • God (or the many gods) promised not to destroy humankind again (Genesis 8:21–22).

Perhaps most interesting is how the stories remain consistent over time. Although the complete Epic of Gilgamesh was discovered in the mid-nineteenth century, much earlier segments (before the writing of Genesis) have been discovered and dated. Yet most significant is the greater fidelity of the Hebrew account. This is attributed to the importance of Jewish oral tradition and the possibility that some of the story was recorded by Noah or from his time, which would make the Hebrew account precede the Babylonian version.

Some scholars hypothesize the Hebrews borrowed the Babylonian account, but no conclusive proof has been offered to support this. Based on the many and varied differences and details within these stories, it seems unlikely that the biblical version depended upon an existing Sumerian source. Further, given the Jews’ reputation for passing down information scrupulously from one generation to another and maintaining a consistent reporting of events, Genesis is viewed by many as far more historical than the Epic of Gilgamesh, which is regarded as mythological because of its numerous gods and their interrelationships and intrigues in deciding the fate of humankind.

Certainly, for those who believe the Bible is God’s Word, it is sensible to conclude He chose to preserve the true account in the Bible through the oral traditions of His chosen people. By God’s providence, His people kept this account pure and consistent over the centuries until Moses ultimately recorded it in the Book of Genesis. The Epic of Gilgamesh is believed to contain accounts which have been altered and embellished over the years by people not following the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Ok thanks Gift for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it. Hopefully you will come away with a different perspective regarding the Great Flood of Noah.

He also said this below that you conveniently left out...were you trying to be deceptive?

Well...yeah. But between the Sumerian account and the Hebrew account the greater fidelity was most significant in the Hebrew account. Why? As presented in my previous post, it was attributed to the importance of Jewish oral tradition. Let's not forget the survivors were Noah and his 7 other family members and of course pairs of animals. Makes sense that Noah and his family recorded this traumatic event and it got passed down through the generations which again would make the Hebrew account precede the Sumerian Babylonian version.

Of course 150,000 sq. km is not the whole earth...nobody said it was. But according to Dr. Ballard this one location is evidence that a catastrophic event happened that he estimated happened 5000 years ago. Now of course there needs to be more discoveries like this one around the globe to accumulate more and more evidence to the point where scientists can boldly claim with their evidence gathered that yes indeed the Great Flood of Noah as written in the Scriptures of the Holy Bible need to considered as a true traumatic historical event in mankind's distant past.

Speaking about reading comprehension have you considered taking a class to improve your comprehension skills? I'm not being facetious by any means but very sincere because what I have witnessed so far is that you have interpretation impaired issues...seriously.

Or another possibility is that you purposely twist & manipulate your interpretations in such a way that it opposes the most logical accepted interpretation so you can have your silly debates back n forth but when you do that it only exposes your lies & deceptions MO.

Ok Gift thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it.

Sorry Gift but you are presenting too much of your opinions, speculations, nonsense here. Essentially presenting unbiblical statements throughout your post. No backing from Scripture. Saying unbiblical things like:

So you cannot be taken seriously, least not by me anyway. You said, "Some history is in order first" then you start rambling on with your opinions, speculations, nonsense...Gift those are not history...lol

Once again if anyone wants to read about the article, "What should we learn from the golden calf incident in Exodus 32?"

    Click on link below:

    http://www.gotquestions.org/golden-calf.html

You will get an explanation that doesn't wander off far away from Scripture unlike what the Gift has presented.

Ok Gift thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it.

Well No Mitt -- Not all Christians God is a xenophobic genocidal flip flopping character with the most petty and nasty of human characteristics. Nor does Mitt believe in many things that Christians believe - nor does what Christians believe necessarily have any basis in reality.

We have yet to address the question and you are already mired in deception. The Bible shows us that Moses did not write the the whole Torah The author of Deuteronomy for example is writing during a time period after the death of Moses - and Deuteronomy tells us this.

The stories in Genesis go back long before the flood Brother Mitt - Do not be deceived by these Wolves on these snake charmer sites.

Another Steaming pile from the house of deception -- Nothing above conflicts with anything I said yet you are pretending otherwise. The reality is that what you post above - conflicts with your story .. not mine.

"Of course 150,000 sq. km is not the whole earth" - is what I said. It is you who claimed the article supported the Genesis story that the whole earth was flooded - and it does not. You crying after the fact .. well maybe there will be more discoveries - does nothing to support your claim, nor change the fact that your initial claim was false.. The article does not prove me wrong .. it is you who is wrong .. in the land of the decepticon.

That Moses ruthlessly put down the rebellion "as shrewd military leaders do" -- is what happens in Exodus - why are you trying to deceive and pretend this not the story of Moses in Exodus.

The Israelites returned to the worship of the El - Asherah - at the behest of Aaron - this can be gleaned from Scripture .. The question is about the third member of the Trinity worshiped at the Golden Calf indicent.. It could have been Marduk - Hadad - Baal or another of the Elohim - "Sons of El" .

My question is this .. Was Moses Upset because of the worship of El/Asherah -- or because YHWH was substituted out of the trinity for a different Son of El ?

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree MrC. Excellent post in my view. No doubt Gift made an outrageous claim. Yes indeed, if his claim is correct, then there would be a 1,000 year gap of history.

Thanks MrC & Gift for your posts, it was a pleasure for me to respond to them.

Why do you buy into these silly falsehoods - and why are you pretending to have a grasp on History in general when you have failed at History of the Bible so badly - have yet to figure the name of the God of Abraham.

Do you not think that might be a good place to start Brother Mitt - You go on about how we should worship this God -- and yet you do not know the name of the God of Abraham.

"frequenting those atheistic websites much to often" -

What is this falsehood and twisted tongue doublespeak ? Casting me as the Atheist - as the one who dwells in the dark, when it is you who refuses to speak the name of the of the God of Abraham.

You see Brother Todd - how the adherent of darkness is caught in own web of deceit.. it is not I who runs from the teachings of Jesus .. as the Atheist is want to do .. but the adherents of darkness .. who scurry and hide when exposed to the light .. doing the dance of deflection .. hiding out in tree tops .. calling out rude names.

Who is frequenting the websites .. such as "GQO" - the sites which are anti - the teachings of Christ .. Anti-Christ .. Anti-God .. then running around calling others Atheists .. such a twisted web of deceit can only come from one source.

You claim to be a believer the Bible -- but do not know the name of the God of Abraham in the Bible - then call those who try to direct you to the teacings of God - Atheists. Not just double standard.. but double trouble .. blaspheming the name of Jesus .. apologizing for human atrocity - and trying to pin the blame on Jesus ... standing up for the Church of the Anti-Christ ..

A twisted path through the darkness .. yea thou I walk through the valley of death .. I shall fear no evil :skull::skull:

Well Beast that's not entirely true. I answered a handful of your questions even before this thread. But what it could be is that some of your questions I viewed them as being ignorant/incoherent so in those cases I don't respond. The way I see it, if I respond to them then my responses will also be ignorant/incoherent.

Ok Beast thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it.
