Russia is part of OPEC+. OPEC+ just decided to cut oil production starting in November by 2 million barrels. We'll all be paying more for gas and home heating oil right into Putin's coffers.
Go back to 2019, when we were having oil lease sales on and offshore, go back to issuing permits for exploration, go back to reduced regulations on refineries and open closed plants. Stop the Dems war on fossil fuels in the US, they certainly don't really believe it or they wouldn't allow us to import more, while praising less production here. Announce to the world you're opening the spicket to the cleanest oil and gas production, prices immediately stop dropping. This isn't hard, go back to Trump oil policies. One other major issue is our national strategic reserve is down to 1970's levels and Russia is threatening nukes....
So you and your ilk have no solutions and just want to blame the current administration to score political points. @hawgsalot , We can safely ignore your steaming manure since it is filled with fallacies from start to finish.
Before the war we got most of oil from Canada. Even though Biden is a dipshit for cancelling the pipeline, I suppose we could be importing more oil from Canada to replace that which use to come from Russia. But it will take much more of those enviornmentally friendly trucks hauling that **** over the border... ****ing progressives. Russia need not worry with these idiots in charge, our societies will eventually collapse anyways. https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/oil-and-petroleum-products/imports-and-exports.php
https://www.worldometers.info/oil/ This may answer some questions. Of course, there could be changes, like discovering more oil, or the usage increasing or decreasing. But, it points to the world having enough oil for about 47 years. Sounds like a long time, but it is not when you consider the changes that have to occur by then. Entire infrastructure will have to change to accommodate the electrical or other solutions we come up with. It's why we need to be serious about it now. Imagine what would happen if oil ran out tomorrow................. At least someone is thinking ahead. The people dragging out and resisting change are screwing over anyone in the future.
I agree with this, maybe not the number of years because it's based on "proven" reserves and assumes mother earth quit producing oil. Either way the point is valid and why we're seeing technology catch up. Everything is available in cordless now unfortunately we don't have an answer for our grid going green. We must find a better source than wind and solar, major issues with both as a main source. Nuclear at this point is our best resort but of course the far left hates it but as we've seen they hate solar and wind when it's in their back yard too.
Do you realize how long people have been clambering about peak oil, yet we continue to find vast new deposits, many of which have never been tapped? Permian basin oil reserve was just discovered some 6 years ago and Kohat Pakistan reserve was just discovered in 2019. The US it self has more untapped oil reserves than any other nation.
My entire ****ing life mate...my entire *******n life. If I listened to histeria when I was in highschool not only would oil be gone but fertalized soil and drinking water. We would all be wearing 3000 sunblock because of the ever expanding hole in the ozone layer.
Heres a few items you can reflect on. How about Biden’s unwillingness to reverse course on his administration’s commitment to put the American oil-and-gas industry out of business at the consumer’s expense. In the year since the administration froze new drilling leases on federal land and more than a third of the nation’s resources in productivity, the U.S. has been falling further from energy independence, putting national security at risk. There is no good reason for America to become more reliant on energy imports. In 2019 the U.S. became energy-independent, a net exporter. Gas and electricity prices were low, and the U.S. was the largest producer of energy on the planet. The solution lies in three simple actions: First, make it official U.S. policy to restore energy-independence by using all sources of available energy. Announce the intent to bring on more supply of oil and gas in the U.S. This provides certainty for producers to bring new capital and supplies to the market, meeting current world demand. Second, open federal lands for energy development. The 9,000 permits the White House keeps touting is misleading at best. Thousands of those sites can’t be developed as they are held up in litigation. Others require new permits and leases to make a full unit. Thousands more await approval. Conservatively, our data tells us the number of available permits ready for production today stands closer to 1,500, and many of those are already drilling. No leases have been issued for federal land since 2020. Third, support energy infrastructure, including pipelines to transport natural gas, oil and CO2 safely. Projects such as the Mountain Valley Pipeline would increase energy availability and enhance our ability to export to our allies. Its not brain surgery. Its pretty simple. And if you are against those applications then you prefer Bidens war on US energy production.
Which is why we will never consider nuclear..... because we are "serious" about our energy infrastructure. What is happening to Germany this winter will come for America if we let the clowns in power have their way.
Do you think he should ban our oil companies from selling oil outside the US? It's a global market, we don't get a better price on oil just because it was produced here, we'd still have to pay the same price as everyone else for oil.
He doesn’t have his boot on the neck of the domestic oil industry. You and the other righties are just making up partisan propaganda .
We were never energy independent, if we were we wouldn’t need to buy from anywhere. Most of the oil America produces is “sweet” and we simply cannot refine and use it here. We were a net exporter however. If we want to be “energy independent” the first step is to upgrade infrastructure and the second is to mandate the billion dollar corporations give Americans preferred rates instead of having to compete with every nation around the world.
Basic literacy wasn’t even thought in most American poverty schools and you want them to understand macroeconomics?
If you take energy independence to mean we can’t import any oil, then the U.S. has never been energy independent and we never will be. We import a lot of oil, refine it, and then export gasoline and diesel. We also export some oil that is a better fit for foreign refineries than for our own. Since we are net exporters of coal and natural gas, if we are net exporters of petroleum and petroleum products, then we are energy independent. In fact, because of the net exports of coal and natural gas, even if we are slight net importers of oil, we would still be energy independent (which was the case in 2019)
Despite your lack of a link.... I'm sure it's far less than what we were making when we were energy independent. The dumbass has stated his intention to destroy the oil industry. And all of the trained seals happily bark and clap
