Then why whine when money is used to support candidates?
As the dems did in some R primaries.

There's certainly nothing illegal about it, but it's high grade hypocrisy for Democrats to back Trump extremists in Republican primaries and then campaign against Trump extremism in the general election.

I am quite sure R's have done similar.
And all unwritten rules went out the door when trump ignored all of them.
Perhaps even when McConnell decided to change SCOTUS rules and even didn't bring up a SCOTUS vote when Obama nominated a candidate.

So, at this point, if it's not illegal, there's no scruples to fall back on anymore.

Perhaps the R's need to consider better who they put up for nominations.
But IMO, it was an extremely risky move on the dems part.
If those candidates won, the country would even go further into chaos and conspiracy theories as a matter of policy.

Then don't present yourself as a defender of democracy.
And for the record, McConnell didn't change anything.

    Correct, Reid changed that.

I am a defender of democracy as the 2 party system has been over the last several years.

I like your post and agree with it. But I think we have an uninformed electorate nevertheless.

Democrats' historic midterm performance, defying the historical odds in congressional races, and winning statehouses, governorships, and other cabinet offices across the land,
need to embrace the losers, but eschew the whiners.

Elections are primarily about meeting the future, not wallowing in bitter, spiteful, petty vendettas, demonizing the "other," and indulging in self-pleasuring paranoid fantasies.

Important lessons for both parties from the 2022 election:

    Dear Republican Party,

    Ignore Trump!

    Dear Democratic Party,

    Ignore Trump!

Then I am quite sure you should be able to give some examples. And does that mean you support such deceptive campaigning?

Sorry, but that's a falsehood. The hypocrisy of advocating during a primary what you oppose in the general has nothing to do with defending free political speech.

There is no such "Republican rule". Yes I support CU which has nothing to do with this. Did CU require the Dems to engage in their blatant hypocracy?

Do you support freedom of speech and assembly?

No one opposes the Dems' (or anyone's) right to place their political contributions where they wish. But legal activity can be hypocritical, as were the Dems' actions in this case.
