That has been the perennial bleat of old farts, especially those who crave authoritarianism over personal freedom.

Fortunately, a younger, better-educated electorate bodes well for the nation. Dried up old geezers seizing control of wombs is antithetical to America's love of liberty.

According to the Edison Research National Election Pool exit poll, the national youth vote this year leaned heavily Democratic, with 63% voting for Democrats and 35% for Republicans. Experts say young voters prevented a “red wave” — the big wins for the GOP that Sen. Ted Cruz and other Republicans predicted before Election Day.

Sen. Ted "Carnival" Cruz said he is "incredibly optimistic" heading into Tuesday’s midterm elections, saying he is confident there will be a "red tsunami," and predicting big victories for Republicans in the House and Senate...

    "I am incredibly optimistic!"
    he said.
"I think this is going to be, not just a red wave, but a red tsunami!"
Cruz predicted that Tuesday’s election results could mirror the 2010 election due to "the magnitude of change the voters are looking for."

    Overall I like this.

I can only imagine democrats in New York are learning a tough lesson on re-districting. Hopefully, all politicians learn that lesson.

They didn't raise inflation anymore than the GOP did. The free market raised it. No one can really control it least of all government. It's all of us that caused inflation. And it turns out, raising the rates seems to be helping. Also, gas prices are down. So if you or others in this country are deluded enough to think any party can control the prices set in the US economy, you do owe the democrats thanks. I don't thank them because they don't have that power, but I'm not the one blaming republicans or democrats for things they can't control. As for focusing on gender issues, acknowledging they exist isn't the same. No one is really focusing on them, some are paying lip service and others are actively working against them.

You play the opponent you're given. If the better team always beats the weaker team, well, that's how games are ideally supposed to go. If the GOP put up weak candidates, shame on them. Of course, you are ignoring that the democrats supported some of those candidates in the primary to make the general election more winnable. So perhaps some of those bets paid off.

No state remains a swing state forever. Florida has shifted to the republicans. it won't be that way for ever. One election does not eternity make. Colorado was once a swing state and now it leans democratic. The only constant is change. Making inroads in Florida will be tough for the next few cycles given DeSantis is popular.

I don't think anyone is actually doing this in either party. At least, not the good politicians.

    ---------------------------

Some have done this, but not all. The savvy politicians and the financial backers will not make this mistake. Whether they are enough to overcome those who won't be known until 2024.

Now you're just recycling the same advice to both sides! Not fair!

Not sure why anyone would think much less say this but yeah, I got nothing here.

This is a trap both parties have fallen into at times. The voter may not see one's perfect idealistic vision for the country, but that's their right.

I think this is a minority of the republican party, but it's weird that people actually think this.
