A valid, historical understanding of government and the state would help you here. Government’s JOB is to manage society in favor of the ruling class as dictated by the economic system. So ours is a capitalist’s government and its job is to keep you in line so you can be efficiently, peacefully exploited for profit in an orderly manner.
