Huh? DeSantis didn’t want to break up with his #1 source of income until they exercised their 1st amendment rights. Once DeSantis went after them, they had every right to defend themselves.

I think Disney was a a convenient target and he gave his followers a quixotic rallying cry.

So by all means, feel free to support your claim Disney attacked DeSantis.

I would bet that there aren't many books in these libraries: We wouldn't know that Rosa and MLK staged the whole thing and stole this girl's story.

Just wow. The programing is real. You could actually do a small google search to find out that Disney threatened DeSantis but I fear thats a task far beyond the scope.

In March of 2022, The Florida legislature drafted the Parental Rights in Education bill. which has absolutely nothing to do with Disney.
The bill had overwhelming support in Florida to include over 60% of Democrats.

The Walt Disney Company came under fire after it was discovered they donated to all the sponsors of the bill.
    OMG imagine that.
Disney wasn't even paying attention to this bill until the media controversy began to surround it

Disney released a lackluster statement and their CEO Chapek later emailed all Disney employees regarding the bill, but did not denounce it. Employees and Cast Members spoke out, and members of Disney Media Entertainment and Distribution released a statement which backfired on CEO Chapek.

Then overnight, Chapek decided to name the bill, the Don't say Gay bill and threated Florida legislators, if you don't repeal the bill, Disney will spend whatever it takes to have their bill repealed.

In response to the decision from Disney, DeSantis’ spokesperson Christina Pushaw stated “Woke corporations do not have veto power over bills passed by a legitimately elected state legislature … If CEOs want to make policy, they should quit and try running for elected office in Florida on a ‘K-3 gender studies’

And thats how Disney attacked DeSantis and the Florida legislature to but their micky mouse nose where it doesn't belong. Theme parks don't threaten state legislatures to repeal bills supported by the majority of the voters.

I don't have to. Its a logged historical event.
You (on the other hand) are free to regurgitate any leftist media without educating yourself on subjects.
    Which you do quite frequently

Meaning he would tie it up in court for years costing Florida taxpayers millions in legal fees.

And more media blah blah blah
I tell you what. I will list the chain of events, and you try and dispute them with historical facts.
That means you don't get to just regurgitate media garbage.
    Agreed?

That’s just the Republican backed Citizens United decision in action. Take it up with SCOTUS. Money and speech are as one.

Yup. Money equaling speech is law of the land. Any amount of money in support of legislation is just 1A.

So you don't think there are any Democrats in Florida? lol
Just for reference, over 60% of Democrats backed the bill
What your stating is just gibberish

There is nothing to take up with the SCOTUS as the law isn't being considered by the SCOTUS.
So why would you even state that.

    Meaning what in this context?

Who said it was banned from being purchased? It will be nice if you would so kindly provide documentation of that.

It just means there is nothing you can dispute and your idea that Desantis attacked Disney is now debunked

And just so everyone knows who is claiming that books are being "banned"..... There are no books being banned from printing and sale to the general public.

There are certain books that are being banned from being used in schools to indoctrinate children. There's a major difference there even though all of the people who are not in favor of it are pretending that there is no difference.

It's not as though every copy of every book is being piled up in the public square and burned.

But it does make good hyperbolic if ungenuine, hysteria to try to imply that that is the case.

You can write and purchase and sell all of the books you want but what you cannot do is use certain books to indoctrinate children in the public school system.

You answer my question first because you made the claim.

The fact that you are attempting to answer my question with another question tells me that your claim is not valid

the book was banned from being purchased, that is why they did not purchase

"The fact that you are attempting to answer my question with another question tells me that your claim is not valid"

you seem to be speaking for yourself

that is not what we are saying, we are talking about not putting them in school libraries

It's your claim so perhaps you can enlighten us.

Or maybe your ability to enlighten us can go to the back of the bus

saying they never purchased the book ever is not proof that rejecting the buying of the book is not banning the book

why did they reject buying the book?

Why don't you provide some evidence that they banned the book from being purchased?
