Showing again this issue isn't within your grasp as that is EXACTLY what they threatened Florida with.

You can post all the (I hate DeSantis) post you want to post. What you CAN'T do is dispute the timeline of what happened.
So here you go. Dispute it if you think you can.
    Good luck

22 Republicans and 15 Democrats passes the Parental Rights bill with only 2 Republicans voting against it.

    March 10, 2022

Disney employees shared their outrage on social media when the company did not denounce the proposed legislation.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek acknowledged their anger, saying that he knows "many are upset that we didn't speak out against the bill."
Chapek explained that Disney leaders were opposed to the bill "from the outset, but we chose not to take a public position on it because we thought we could be more effective working behind-the-scenes, engaging directly with lawmakers — on both sides of the aisle."

Disney CEO Chapek pledged five million dollars to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to smooth things over.

    THE NEXT DAY
"The Human Rights Campaign will not accept this money from Disney until we see them build on their public commitment and work with LGBTQ+ advocates to ensure that dangerous proposals, like Florida's Don't Say Gay or Trans bill, don't become dangerous laws, and if they do, to work to get them off the books," says Joni Madison, Interim President of the Human Rights Campaign.

Actor and writer Ben Siemon isn't satisfied with today's news. Siemon, whose credits include Disney's DuckTales, tweeted, "Please don't be fooled by this half-hearted triage. The bill was allowed to pass with no public position from Disney, and they still intend on funding all the politicians that passed it."

According to the accountability news site Popular Information, "in the last two years, Disney has donated $197,162 to members of the Florida legislature that have already voted for the 'Don't Say Gay' legislation," including to sponsors of the bill, Florida Rep. Joe Harding (R) and state Sen. Dennis Baxley (R).

Disney's CEO about-face comes after protests
CEO Chapek becomes an outspoken critic of the measure, going so far as to say its “goal as a company” is having the bill “repealed by the legislature and struck down in the courts.”

DeSantis warned Disney that if the company chose to use its “economic might to attack the parents of my state,” he would treat it as a “provocation” and “fight back.”

At the time an executive producer admitted to advancing a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” to insert queerness into children’s animation during a Disney staff meeting on Florida’s Parental Rights in Education legislation.

In response to the decision from Disney, DeSantis’ spokesperson Christina Pushaw on Friday tweeted: “Woke corporations do not have veto power over bills passed by a legitimately elected state legislature … If CEOs want to make policy, they should quit and try running for elected office in Florida on a ‘K-3 gender studies’ platform.”

After Chapek came out against the bill, Disney employees expressed concern that “overtly gay affection” had been blocked from Disney content in the past. Pixar studios reportedly restored a same-sex kiss in the film Lightyear after staff backlash to the alleged censorship of the “overtly gay” content,
Chapek vowed to assemble a content task force to become a “force for good” for the LGBTQ movement.

68 percent of general-election voters said they are less likely to do business with Disney after reports that it plans to include sexual ideology in new content for children.

DeSantis signed the bill repealing the Reedy Creek Improvement Act into law.

Disney Fires CEO Bob Chapek after Woke War with DeSantis

Due to Chapeks stance on gay and Trans rights to 5 year old children, the loss of their Reedy Creek exemption, the inclusion of gay characters, and Disney stock tanking another 40%, Chapek is fired.

The announcement came as a surprise given Chapek renewed his contract in July after the company’s board of directors unanimously voted to extend the contract for another three years.

During Chapek’s tenure the company became embroiled in a fight with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after it chose to advocate against the state’s Parental Rights in Education bill, which prohibits teaching gender ideology and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third-grade classrooms.

And here we go, like conservatives say: Anyone the left disagrees with, is fundamentally a racist lol. It's not opposed to education. Fallacies under the pretense of giving 'equal coverage' to some ill conceived notion of history is not education, it's regressive. Again, I learned the curriculum without the fanfare, and likely you did as well. You know it's as much of a fallacy as I do, once you put the politics away.

When it comes to history and our students, that has to be a concurrent view on history otherwise there'll be substantial disagreements on history, such as we're having right now.

We didn’t get taught about the massacres at Battle Mountain or the “Stolen Generations” and the “Stolen wages” either but that did not mean they did not happen and we should not talk about it.
