I deleted just one of them for you, someone else must have taken care of the rest! Whatever the case, I believe you are free to go now!
Got a few dumb questions for you... more of a ' how do I ' sort of thing..I'm learning the PF bells and whistles , but it does get confusing at times. It is my understanding that if one wishes to create a new thread based on a current event , then one must post a news link to that thread.. How do ya do that , and please , a step by step answer is what I'm after, ok ? : ) In several replys to my posts , I have seen that comments were multi-quoted. When I went to reply , I could not figure out how to respond to the individual querrys within the posts. How do ya do that ? and again , step by step, ok ? : ) Is there a way to bring up replys to my posts that would allow easier tracking , or do I have to track them all ? again , step by step. : ) Also , I'd like to use more symbols / smiles / than 4 , is it possible to get permission to use more , and how do I go about it ? I'd like permission to use 8 , although I'd probably use 6 at the most, most times , but 8 would be nice to have sometimes. Thank you for your time .. Hillbilly
Yes, you should always post a link to your source. To do that, you simply copy the url of the source (you know, that little window at the top of the screen) then click on the icon that looks like the world, or a globe, a window will pop up. Delete the 'http' that pops up and paste in your link and it should work. Your source will be linked. To multi quote, theres a button next to the reply button, and when you click on it, it highlights orange. When it's highlighted, its copied that post. You can then click this on other posts, then click reply and all the posts you have copied will show up. You could subscribe to the thread to get replies to your posts easily enough...before you reply to a post, scroll down a little, and click on 'subscribe to thread'. Then when you want to find replies, you should go to your User CP and it'll link you directly to the threads you've subscribed to. I would love more smilies, too! But we only allow 4 at the moment, and that includes images! If you need any more assistance, let me know!
Thank you for the help. I appreciate it. : ) also , and if may be allowed to go off post , thank you for the rep points. : )
Not sure this is the place to ask... but here goes. I haven't received the confirming email yet, although I definitely gave the correct addy when I registered. I belong to dozens of forums, and this happened only once, with a forum using this same software/format. Eventually I PM'd the site admin, who worked some magic from his end, but I don't know who to contact here. Any advice?
Has it told you that you need a confirmation email? I never got one of those - I think you get an email to thank you for signing up. As soon as you register, you can fix up your profile and start posting.
Heya, I have a question regarding post moderation. I have 20 posts, and I was told that I've been approved. So, why are my posts still moderated?
Myth , you'll just wake up one morning and log in to PF , and all will be well. It just takes a little time for it all to come together , that's all... : ) But as a PF newbie , you got to realize that you're in a higher class ... : )
Myth , I meant that as encouragement to you ... On PF , you have all these neat bells & whistles... and there are site mods that keep things in line... It's just a great place to be...
I am a first time user in the Political Forum. I love this format, the same that I am used to in another site for amateur radio operators at QRZ.COM. Hello to all, I am sure I will enjoy hours of debate and comment in the months to come.
Evening all from a Newb to this Forum in GA. I'm looking forward to both contributing and learning here.
I was new to a political forum just over a year ago. I came from a small forum to this worldwide forum. What a difference. You couldn't kick me out of here. Well, I could misbehave but no, I took an oath to be a good witch Wecome, Gatekeeper. I like your username. Welcome. Do you have a nickname we can refer to? I can't type numbers too well...lol. I do like 442, as in Oldsmobile. Let us know. Enjoy your stay here.
The handle is for a 72 Olds 442 I own. I haven't yet been able to downsize the pic enough to use it as an Avatar. Once I get off the road next week I'll take care of this. Cheers!
Can I use the word @$$ on this forum? Like as in jack*** or bad***? It's not on the censor but I'm not sure and don't want to get banned...
I am new here. I think my first ever post was deleted. I don't even remember what it was.....................pfffft.
I understand the need to try and keep crazies and spammers off the forum, but you really need to be clearer about what exactly is required of a newby before they can post freely. I've read through this thread and it appears that it could be anything between 3 to 12 posts and/or ten days. Also, the OP makes mention of a "New User Support Ticket System" but doesn't provide a link to it and I can't find it. Is that system still in place or is it just a badly worded description for this thread? Oh and it would have been nice if the registration process had had a warning somewhere about the newby restrictions in place here. It's confusing when you think you've signed up for something, then try to post an introduction thread and have it just not appear without any warning as to why not. It only became obvious what had happened after I tried posting in another thread and having an "awaiting moderation" warning flash up briefly.
