Actually no it doesn't. It further proves your thread a lie.

    Here is what actually happened

See what happens when you look at reality? It's quite a different light.

No one has banned ownership of M1 guns in the U.S. The administration blocked the importation of a chunk of nearly a million guns from the Korean government to US citizens. Big difference. You may not agree with their decision to block the sale, but it in no way means that the rifles have been banned in the U.S.

Now crawl back in your birther bunker with as many M1s as you can carry and don't come back until you get a god(*)(*)(*)(*) grip on reality.

These rifles were paid for by the US taxpayer. During the era before we had to borrow money from China (WHAT IRONY!!) to finance the worse than useless wars we're now fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

As such, they should be returned to the US government.

Please explain to me how it means full auto when the accepted definition is selective? A full auto is something like an automatic rifle, or a light machine gun....... I think it might be a LMG, they have some intermediate cartridge LMGs out there, not an assault rifle. You lose, give up.

Also explain how an FN FAL is an assault rifle since it fires a full rifle cartridge.

Next you'll be telling me that the M16 is a machine gun.

You have no clue kid, I suggest you reread your Wonder Book of Weapons that you have never used or seen.

What would you like to talk out of your behind on next, 1960's American Muscle Cars or The Zero Contributions of Aussie Warfare?

Please tell me how a weapon firing a full rifle cartridge is an assault rifle. Tell me how fully automatic makes it an assault rifle and not selective fire.

You are wrong. An assault rifle is defined as a selective fire weapon that uses an intermediate cartridge. Get back to us when your source isn't the media that calls everything either an assault rifle or a machine gun.

    quote from Lunchboxxy;

You mean individuals like Attorney General Eric Holder who might give them away to the Mexican drug gangs?

    This is a definite possibility.

But why not just fire Holder rather than limit the freedom of a million law-abiding American citizens to own these rifles?

The ban is on almost 1 million additions to the supply of rifles that Obama has denied US citizens.

The flood of the additional rifles would make them more affordable, why does Obama want fewer Americans to have a piece of our history denied to them? What a jackass...

Der Furher does not want Americans to have weapons that could be used to defend themselves with.

If that's your final say on owning military grade weapons in your home without belonging to an active military organisation, I'm okay with that. Hey, why wait till your corpse is cold? The victims of the criminals who break into your house and steal your guns won't wait that long!

I'm sure gun store owners are not upset. They would sure hate to see prices drop below what it cost to stock their shelves. M-1 Garands are already fairly cheap, $100-$200. Plus this has everything to do with trade and nothing to do with the second ammendment.

If we can keep Obama from stealing or 2nd Amendment rights I'll take my chances against the Obama voters who break into my house.

You might mean private gun owners who already have M-1's.

Gun store owners would make a profit selling the M-1's from Korea to American buyers.

And if you can find working Garands for $100 to $200 you should buy a few because that is far less than they are worth.

$100-$200? The ones priced at that range are not the ones I want. Additional stock would offer much better quality for the right prices.
