‘Catholic’ Biden says religious people should ‘harmonize’ with LGBT activists.

Self-proclaiming doesn’t make people real Christians, but more likely hypocrites, especially the loud, hysterical ones.
The right wing religious preachers could learn a lot from Biden’s quiet and humble approach to his religiosity.

 

The intent of marriage has to do with not spreading disease, as they had a sexual plague, adultery spreads disease and promiscuity spreads disease (see GAIDS and bathhouses). A view that it is somehow a bad translation only makes sense if homosexuals...got married, so there is no logic whatsoever in claiming consensual same sex relationships are okay in the Old Testament if there is no evidence in the Torah...promoting Gay marriage.

No need to mention "woman" if the guy is molesting boys, or any reason to mention "woman" at all if he's Gay and Gay is okay, he could just as easily molest girls if not Gay, same for the woman could molest boys or girls.

 

You have given an example of one of the reasons prejudice against homosexuality has diminished so much - once encountering 'out' homosexuals becomes a normal part of life you have to work so much harder to maintain the prejudice. With more homosesuals 'out' than ever before, people are realizing that people in their families, frienship groups and workplaces are gay. This is one of the key reasons why those biased against homosexuals are so keen to keep them closeted - they know that most people will move toward acceptance when homosexuality is just a normal part of everyday life.

 

Why would a person worship a God that does that?

 

If you believe in the old testament and aren't a Christian [reject the New Testament], then that makes sense, But you can't call them Christians. As for historically, they also burned witches. And the Old Testament also says we should execute children who disobey,

I guess they are best described as Anti-Christians. Or perhaps they are really closer to being Muslims.

Imagine a practicing Catholic denouncing public condemnation of a group of people over who they love! Quick, get the tar and feathers! And don't forget to excommunicate the Pope while you're at it!

 

I would love to know how these people have so much free time to be in other people's business. I can barely my "to do" list each week and none of my wandering thoughts involve who somebody else loves romantically.

 

Just be careful. They say it's contagious. Apparently, you can turn gay if you interact with gay people. I've already been exposed so it's too late for me. I know when it happened too. There was a gay couple two cars ahead of me in the drive-thru the other day. My fate is sealed. I already feel like repainting and dancing in tulips. /sarc.

 

I never said it was “ok” in the bible — although in numerous parts of the world it was perfectly fine although not legally recognized except in rare cases — it just doesn’t have the weight that many on the evangelical right want it to have. It was barely mentioned if it was mentioned at all.

My point is this part of the bible has been substantially changed as recently as the 30’s, to believe that is the only alteration ever, takes an individual plagued by extreme cognitive dissonance.

There are like six commandments of Jesus, and the law of the prophets (Golden Rule, every single law must flow from it), and none of them mention "it."

Too many translations to change to claim the Bible changed, you would have to purge and commit genocide and burn books so religiously that the Obamanation would be proud of a totally sterilized future universe: “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." (Obama)

What is changeable is the fact Jesus mentioned the Holy Spirit, something totally missing from the Koran, a view that a text or final prophet isn't really what we are to follow; you can place too much on a word or verse, read out of context, wash the cups according to traditions, try and change verses to fit a narrative, become the fundamentalist yourself thumping a verse, have endless arguments on translations, see the opposing view entrench, and both miss the point entirely.

It is better to marry than to burn and better to have sinful sex with one partner for life than with hundreds of partners for a short time, so same sex marriage, if the partners stay loyal, makes the world better by reducing the number of sins.

However it only takes one sin to go to Hell.

 

Christ never did authorize anyone to persecute another human.

 

Every Catholic that voted for Biden needs confession. Biden is so anti-Catholic that it is a wonder he hasn't been excommunicated from the Church.

 

Not every "sin" is a problem. It may be a problem to one person, but the world isn't a worse place because someone envied something.

 

The Bible would disagree with you

 

Coveting is a huge problem because it leads to almost every sin that follows. If no one coveted there would be little adultery, limited theft, less sabbath breaking, fewer murders.
The sadness that comes from craving things you can never have eats away at your insides and makes you harder to live with. That leads to sins related to anger and depression. Coveting is an accessory to all the evil in the world.

 

I'm certain it would, but since that collection of stories is awash in unethical behavior it doesn't bother me. Rape never made it to the top 10 but envy somehow did...

 

As long as it doesn't involve altar boys, why not harmonize?

 

The Bible is clear that homosexuality is wrong..clear in new and old testaments. History revisioning and twisting doesn't change that. It is considered a sin and against God's plan...as all sins are.

Christians and non Christians should treat each other with respect....meaning both... tolerating differences with opinion without hatred.

The left is not tolerant as a rule. Some of the posts here are hateful....towards people who believe Homosexuality is a sin. Towards Christians primarily. Islam does not get the wrath but I digress.

Homosexuals are welcome to a church...but they need to respect and be willing to adhere to the values of that church if it is Bible Believing. Some churches aren't adherents of the Bible and some are.

Changing the Bible to fit liberal progressive idealology and to make sin acceptable is not an option for Bible Believing Christians. You will simply have to learn to live with the Bible in our midst and Bible believers .

 

If it is such a major sin, why was homosexuality not added to the bible until the 1930’s?

I do think it is foreshadowing that the church changed pedophila to homosexuality and then started molesting young boys… and hiding those that did…
