The result of which will be thousands of people complaining about their erroneously assumed rights being taken away............followed by thousands less instances of gun violence.
Not to mention how he has the slightest clue to back up his "thousands less instances of gun violence."
Well, one thing is for sure. Sotomayor just proved herself to be partisan. She's not supposed to be worried about public perception of how a case in progress is ruled on. She's supposed to be worried about whether or not something is Constitutional. And again, Trump did not pack the courts. Claiming such is a lie. Trump did not once add any new seats to SCOTUS. Which is what packing the court is. Not to mention last I knew a President just nominates Justices. They have NO CONTROL over whether or not they are seated. To imply otherwise is also a lie. Its a shame you have no integrity.
The only certain way to end an unwanted pregnancy is abortion and a modern society provides this option for women.
More justices in SCOTUS. So we can get more independent justices than right-wing partisan justices in the Court.
What it says is gun ownership is legal but claiming the 2nd gives one the right to walk down main street with a loaded AR-15 is ludicrous.
Lincoln didn't have the votes to pass the 13th Amendment either. Obama didn't have the votes to pass Obamacare. And Trump didn't have the votes to overturn it. But they were the reason why each was elected. So the REAL leaders GOT the votes. The fake idols didn't.
I think he's more likely to have the votes to press for federal legislation supporting turning Roe v. Wade into federal law.
If he gets the votes to protect that, and the votes to protect civil rights, voting rights and the right to not die of Covid..., which were also expected to be undermined by this partisan SCOTUS when he promised to protect them; that would work too. But I think more independent justices might be easier.
There is no support for it listed in the Constitution which is why we have so many court challenges. Congress can create and ratify an abortion amendment and end the tug of war. Writing a law just puts it back in the courts at some point.
I think it likely would work. It's puzzling to me that this hasn't been done in the past few decades.
