Yes, phone companies do keep records on ones location. Not sure how long, but the data can certainly be archived and shared or sold. I know marketing companies will use your location data.

 

Google can track you as you drive home from work and your daily driving routine, because they sell advertising to local businesses so that they can advertise how many people drive by a business so that those local companies can spend their money on those targets.

 

The precision of the data is in question. No marketing company needs to know exact geographical points of where you are at any given time. They look at things like zip codes, towns, counties. That’s about it.
Proving that it was this particular guy breaking windows based on his cell data won’t be possible. That’s why I think to really prove it was him you need to have a confession.

 

Some clarification, Google and other companies can track because of all the internet devices are communicating with your phone. That collected data is used by just about all other companies that want your business.

Did you even watch the videos??? Most of the people running out of the store with stuff are white people with odd arm tats. That 2nd video looks like the first one as you see some protesters holding signs as all the white guys are looting the store.
