Hopefully, DeSantis is who they nominate. If below is any indication, it's trending that way. He can carry-on with implementing Trump's agenda and Trump will convince his base to get behind DeSantis when he sees the writing on the wall.

Fake news, more like fake conspiracies again. I asked if you didn't about Smollett's sentencing, because in the previous post, you claimed you didn't, now some obscure site, yet you call other sites, yet they have the story themselves on the sentencing.

What is fake, are your accusations. !!!!

If I were a political advisor to DeSantis, I would be telling him to ignore Trump's attacks. Completely ignore them. Don't even talk about Trump. I would be telling him that he must not be baited. I would tell him to "be the adult in the room." And I would be telling him to stick to the agenda, and the agenda would be very Trump-like. This would give Trump voters the opportunity to vote for Trump's agenda, which I think is a winning agenda, without voting for Trump, a man too many people don't like. DeSantis could represent Trump's agenda but wrapped in a tactful, mature, "presidential" package. That would be our strategy in dealing with Trump.

Inflation rocketing? Since Jun of 2022 inflation has been DECLINING

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/273418/unadjusted-monthly-inflation-rate-in-the-us/

Interest rates climbing? Yes, that's why inflation is declining. Which is worse? Increasing inflation or increasing interest rates?

Banks folding? So far TWO banks have folded and those can be attributed to the deregulation during the Trump years.

Economy tanking? GDP has grown year to year. It's part of the reason for the inflation. You don't get inflation in a shrinking economy. If inflation rises too much that can lead to a recession but so far we have not seen that in this economy.

    I agree.

    Again, I agree.
In other words, DeSantis will catch more flies with honey than go down that rabbit hole with Trump. The ball is in DeSantis's court.

I was hoping Trump would change his own strategy. Show maturity. Some say he might when he realizes attacking everyone and their dog isn't working. Time will tell, but in my opinion, a leopard doesn't change his spots.

Inflation is not all Biden's fault, but your points are not valid

Many food items cost substantially more than they did 3 years ago. Inflation not being as bad doesn't lower it to pre 2022 levels.

Rent is up 7.4% YOY - did people's wages go up enough to cover that?

We are heading towards a recession and the bank crisis has made that even more likely. The "good news" is that both parties will get us there quicker when they don't increase the debt ceiling

And this is what most of us knew about Trump in 2016. Maturity is not one of his traits. Neither is honesty, competence and intelligence.

But gosh, he didn't have private email servers so that was a relief (Sarcasm!)

And all it took was a disaster of a presidency and a failed insurrection for you to realize that maybe, just MAYBE, Trump was ill suited to be President.

I disagree. Cruz tried that and it didn't work. DeSantis is a well-spoken, smarter man. He should be able to go after trump - hard.

If the Republicans run on the stolen election of 2020 then it doesn't matter what the Democrats run on.

    Really?

So the investigation into Russian collusion, and using that excuse to spy on his campaign by Clinton... legit?

    By Clinton?

What the hell are you talking about?

She wasn't President, she wasn't part of the DOJ. She HAD been the Secretary of State but she wasn't even that anymore.

And yes, the investigation into Trump campaign contacts with Russia was legitimate.

If DeSantis wants to win, he must bring unity, not the animosity of Trump supporters. And responding to Trump's insults and attacks is exactly what Trump wants him to do. Trump is baiting him to join in to the sh-t show. Remember, DeSantis has to win not only the Republican nomination, but the general election later, and the general public doesn't want another sh-t show. They want a president.

Emotional non factual situations? Lol. Are you saying your blind support of Trump is based on facts and not emotions?

Lol. Let me summarize what you said in one double picture....

Oh how I wish that were true among the maga crowd.
We need DeSantis to win. It shouldn't be hard, or terribly risky, to turn some of trumps childish rhetoric back on trump. I mean, trump is a few steps above drooling vegetable.

Really, name one possible GOP candidate who has not, at some point, kissed Trump's ring?
You really think a new found opposition to Trump is going to wash away years of feckless submission to him?
All it will take is a few videos of the candidate gladly sharing the stage with Trump and praising him to kill any chance at a White House bid.

I think you're wrong. Laughably wrong. I guess we will see.

And btw, trump will predictably make the primaries clown sh*tshow, it wont be hard for the winner to distance themselves from trump.

In 1976 Carter beat Ford for the Presidency mostly due to the albatross of Nixon that every GOP candidate was stuck with.
In 2024 it will be the same but this time the name of the albatross will be Trump.

As long as the GOP refuses to divest itself of Trump and Trumpism it will be more of the same.

    I don't support Trump.

    Never did.

What you're trying is a "gotcha" to try to attempt to validate a failed argument.

The foaming at the mouth, weaponizing government agencies, and witch hunt being put on by the radical left needs to be called out. Its shameful.

That doesn't mean I support Trump. It means I oppose you.

The problem though is that Biden is an albatross too

If the economy is doing ok, the dems win, otherwise it will come down to what is stronger among independents the Anti-Trump vote or the Anti-Biden vote
