Personally I think it has far more to do with poverty and a lack of education.

When it comes to minorities, as they become prosperous and more educated, they gravitate towards conservative ideals.

It's not that Democrats want specific races, per se, it's more that they want poor, uneducated 3rd worlders who depend on the government to survive.
