Wyoming is a state. DC is not.
Under the Constitution, only people living in states get representation in Congress.

The HQ of the executive branch is the WH. The rest of it, including the Pentagon, is spread all over the US. At least 50% of all that federal ooze should be sold off.
It is far from clear that the DOS actually represents the USA, so I like the idea of moving it to Mexico DF.
Of course, Mexico would probably want to build a wall around it - we should pay for that wall. ;-)

10 square miles......does not mean contiguous miles.

yes you can. You can have 10 square mile plots. You could have 100 1/10 square mile plots

a "square mile" is just math. Shapes are irrelevant

You are correct, it could. Hence my post why the right doesn't want a separate state.

Ten square miles and Ten miles square are not interchangeable terms.

Yes. it does. Its about democracy

Senators representing 19 million people can override senators representing 219 million people. Is that really democracy ?

"Democracy" can be served w/o the creation of a new state, a fact you agreed to - and so, no, that's not the Dem's objective.
Further, states containing 23 million people can override states containing 301 million people
Both by design - as the US is not a democracy.

    No.
Ten square miles is an area equivalent to the area of a square with the sides measuring 3.19 miles x 3.19 miles.
Ten miles square is an area equivalent to the area of a square with the sides measuring 10 miles x 10 miles.
The constitution says "ten miles square"

There's a reason DC is the size it is.

As Mark Twain should have said:

‘If Voting Made a Difference, They Wouldn’t Let Us Do It’

Yes, even if he did not actually say it.
He certainly would have agreed with it.

I agree with you. So did Mark Twain.

“In this country we have one great privilege which they don’t have in other countries,” Twain once said on the issue of voting. “When a thing gets to be absolutely unbearable the people can rise up and throw it off. That’s the finest asset we’ve got – the ballet box.” MT
