From my point of view, we always believe in something. Most people believe in consumerism today, that if they own that thing or that thing, they will be happy, or they believe to scientism, thinking that science is a kind of magic that could solve every mankind problem.
Progressivism is one of the biggest belief existing right now. A lot of progressivist are aswell consummerist even if we couldn't pretend there is a big critic of consumerism from the right wing.
Just to says, evacuate the idea of religion does't evacuate a lot of philosophical problem, and the most basic one : on what do you base your own life ?

The fact is that the Sri Lankan security authorities had incredibly failed here ... yes, they failed so much that there was a legitimate suspicion that they wanted to let the attacks pass!
It is not just about the clues that the authorities from abroad got as warnings, which is bad in itself.
It is also about the fact that probably mental backer (next to the IS) - Moulvi Zahran Hashim - was no stranger. Out of the Islamic community in Sri Lanka, the security authorities were warned about this man for the first time 3 years ago and then constnatly, but nothing, absolutely nothing happened!

Of course, it's clear that these beastly and heinous attacks are calling all Islam haters back on track ... as is the spiritual bullcrap that they then spread again.
Evil and sad it is however that the IS and this Islamist scum reach exactly their goal thanks to these people, because they want that Muslims are hated by all others and the Faith defamiert, because so this small minority among the Muslims yes say "Look how much all the others hate you! 4. You claim moral certainty, yet Christianity is home to every conceivable position on every question of morality. You'll find Christians who hate gays and who identify as gay. Etc, etc. How can you claim moral "superiority" when you guys are more fractured than any religious or ideological group in history?
