Abdullah Abdullah in the lead, in the lead... Abdullah Holds Lead in Afghan Presidential Election April 20, 2014 Fresh partial results from Afghanistans April 5 presidential election show former foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah has slightly increased his lead. Although the percentage of his nearest rival has dropped, election officials say it is too soon to determine whether the election will go to a run-off vote.
We were told by very serious-looking Western politicians and media 'experts' that the Crimea referendum wasn't valid because it was held under “military occupation.” But I've just been watching coverage of elections in Afghanistan, held under military occupation, which have been hailed by leading western figures, such as NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen as a “historic moment for Afghanistan” and a great success for “democracy.” Why is the Crimean vote dismissed, but the Afghanistan vote celebrated? I'm confused. Can anyone help me? http://rt.com/op-edge/west-leaders-ukraine-democracy-600/
We didn't get to hear what Granny sez yet, but at least waltky made a thread! Right on! The reason is because democracy and human rights are just for the good guys and bad guys that we like.
