You've only falsely claimed it for lack of rebuttal.

"In 1982, Sowell won the Mencken Award for Best Book for Ethnic America: A History from the Free Press Association. [63] In 1990, Sowell won the Francis Boyer Award, presented by the American Enterprise Institute. In 1998, he received the Sydney Hook Award from the National Association of Scholars.[64] In 2002, Sowell was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President George W. Bush for prolific scholarship melding history, economics, and political science. In 2003, he was awarded the Bradley Prize for intellectual achievement.[65] In 2004, he was given Laissez Faire Books' Lysander Spooner Award for his book Applied Economics: Thinking Beyond Stage One.[66] In 2008, getAbstract awarded his book Economic Facts and Fallacies its International Book Award.[67]"

The $161 is a fake number, it doesn't count the $400 BILLION borrowed from payroll taxes.

    Uh... let's double check that:

Pelosi took over in 2007 and turned the gavel over at the end of 2010, so 4 years, and debt as a percentage of GDP went from:
    Year end 2006 - 61.18%
    Year end 2010 - 90.24%
Growth of 29.06% or 5.02% yr

    Boehner 2011 - 2015
    Year end 2015 - 99.43%
    Growth of - 9.19% or 1.84% yr

    Ryan 2016 - 2018
    Year end 2018 - 104.29%
Growth of 4.86% or 1.62% yr

    Pelosi Year end 2019 - 105.80%
    Growth of 1.51%

Well clearly the budget went to hell after the GOP lost the 2006 mid-terms, and Pelosi while she controlled the purse strings through 2010, ran up a staggering amount of debt. But, I'm deeply dissatisfied with failure of the GOP to restore fiscal discipline after they successively gained the House, then the Senate, then the Presidency, and it never seemed to me like Ryan really had his head in the game. Frankly, I think he may have resigned, thinking Trump would be driven from office and that he would be the Presidential nominee right now. Ooops!

So, why is the rise in Federal Expenditures so steep under Ryan? Yes it's worse under Pelosi, but why did it resume it's climb under Ryan?

I don't care about as a % of GDP I care about actual deficits and how much increase and decrease.

Really, refute it then, go to the OMB and get the official deficit number for FY2007 and prove me wrong.

That's your problem. The difference between a certain amount of debt being a manageable or unmanageable problem is what does the debt holder have in terms of resources to service the debt.

It's not a problem when you look at how much money the budget was in deficit I don't care what % it was of GDP, government has no claim to a certain percentage of GDP and it's not a budgetary measure of the budget deficit. I care about ACTUAL dollars and that is as little as possible like the last Republican deficit in 2007 of that paltry $161B and the fact that the Republicans cut the Democrats 2009-2015 $T in half and better yet surplus like Gingrich and Kasich in the late 1990' through 2000.

    Fake headline!
here is actually what Obama blamed on the GOP:
"President Obama blamed Republicans on Saturday for $85 billion in automatic budget cuts over the next seven months, saying the GOP is unwilling to help reduce the federal debt by raising taxes on the wealthy.

"It's happening because Republicans in Congress chose this outcome over closing a single wasteful tax loophole that helps reduce the deficit," Obama said in his weekly radio address."

When will people get it through their skulls that national polls are irrelevant in Presidential elections? The only polls that matter are State polls and the critical ones for this election are Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The person who wins those States will become the President.

he likes to pretend the recession never happened, and had no effect on revenues or spending. he also doesn't know how bills become law.

I certainly hope it doesn't cost him the election, if it does....we are in for a long long horrible opening up. If history shows us anything biden and the dems will only increase the damage done by the Chinese Virus.

I think most rational American realize that the economy is shutdown because of the Chinese Virus, and that it's not Trump's fault....more over they realize that Trump is the only one running that has the ability to quickly turn this around once we reopen.
