I think you're right. I don't know where they got their numbers from, because I recall the Catholic Church a few years back saying that 300 Christians were being killed on average each day. The amount could not have dropped that much. Then again ISIS has been defeated, and maybe pressure has been put on nations in Africa and Asia - but again the amount seems way too low.

The outcry is dependent on where you live.

Simple reasoning, identity politics and depending on the culture you live in a few Christians dying doesn't really have a "shock value". The entire reason new outlets exist in the past decade, or even more, is not to create a informed population about what is going on in the world. The interest is in shock and awe. The big question getting answered is, "what gets the most views?" Typically the answer is controversy, so hot button topics are played on repeat. Create debate and so on.

The death of 4136 Christians is not a controversial topic, it's more a family dinner talk that a kid tells their father and the father says, "its a crazy world out there." Similar conversation if you mention 100 Muslims are killed for every 1 American that dies. If I say that in a Muslim country I may be leading an army, but if I say that in America, "Crazy world out there."

Perhaps because of the liberation of centuries of oppression for not being a white, male, Christian, heterosexual is relatively new, people are more jumpy about it. Christians dying for being Christian is nearing 2000 years old, and being killed for being Muslim is 1400 years old, makes it expected.

Therefore I would say outcry is based on where you live, where the general population gets its news from, and how distracted the population is with shiny toys.

Could dive deeper but its really unnecessary, want an outcry then travel and do something about the atrocity.

Muslim schools are Madrasas, which is basically memorizing the Quran. Awards are given on how well a student is able to memorize. Reasoning has no play in the Islamic world - which would account for the cult like fanaticism some Muslims have.

Every civilization takes from those it comes in contact with, and it grows accordingly.
