No, the op tends to include a link and then the posters conclusion/discussion point, such link(s) is/are missing. I'm in the UK and searching about American information never goes well on the web browsers, tend to deviate to UK pages. Also, there are some 11 pages to f posts, no doubt 8 page worth of useless posts.

So if there's no breakdown of gun deaths, this thread is as much use as tatty bo jangles on a fish

60% are suicide. About 38% are homicide, which includes justifiable homicide (self defense), the rest are accidents, undetermined, or mass shooting.

Suicide rates exploded during the pandemic. People losing jobs, family members, struggling with the depression associated with a lack of access to mental health during the lock down.

It's no doubt the rate went up as a result.

Surprisingly I'm sure the gun control advocates also support the controls that lead to the increase in suicides.

43,644 is about .0134% of the 325,000,000 US population...is this high or low? How can we compare US numbers to any other nation when every nation has so many differing variables contributing to shootings? We can't even compare, for example, CA to TX...too many differences. I read that Americans own 393 million guns! In a population of 325 million, every man, woman and child on average owns 1.21 guns each...and how many more are unaccounted?

I guess I'm surprised there are not more shootings...

When at least half of the people exercise their right to carry concealed handguns violent street crime will stop instantly. More Guns = Less Crime

Yet we constantly experience and always have the exact opposite , the more guns in our society the more deaths and woundings we have from them.

Specious logic. The closer you are to water the more likely you'll drown. Should it be illegal to live on the shore?

There are all kinds of gun show exceptions that let anyone with the money to buy a gun. It is easier for teenage gang bangers in most cities to buy a gun than to buy cigarettes.

In fact, you know very well that when the people are disarmed violent crime including gun crime soars.

It is always easier for criminals to buy illegal guns than cigarettes. Criminals do not need legal loopholes to buy every kind of weapon regardless of any gun control laws including gun bans.

Gun Control has nothing to do with reducing crime. Gun control laws are designed to stimulate crime, and they work very well.

Gun control schemes defy common sense unless they are intended to empower violent criminals.

Then why are people at gun shows in certain states allowed to buy guns as long s they have the cash.

Nonsense, there is no such thing as a "realistic" gun control laws. The "right" are at least as likely to support laws designed to disarm the people as the "left". IOW, they are on the same Big Bad Government end of the spectrum regardless of the label.

Disarming the people always empowers the criminal predators.
