I really don't even need to have any creativity or imagination on such issues. Really, all I need to do is just copy what every single police dept in the US does, and know a modern, semi-auto handgun with 8+ rounds will be enough for almost anything coming at me.

Good, you do that. I will do what I determine is my best approach. I determine I need 30 round magazines, unless I change my mind tomorrow and determine I need larger magazines.

 

I prefer My customary Glock 17 with it's 17 + 1 capacity thank you, with two extra magazines on my belt.

Apparently you have never been in the near victim of multiple thugs or lived in a rough neighborhood not noted for its multiple "sane intruders"

I can remember at least 3 instances in which having a reliable, large caliber, semi-automatic pistol has saved not just my life but the lives & well being of 2 unarmed next door neighbors whose phone line had been cut before their back door had been kicked in by multiple assailants. This was before everyone had a cell phone but even then, a phone is little comfort when there are armed thugs already rummaging through your home.

You're welcome to your pepper spray, tasers & butter knives etc but I'm far more comfortable with the "deterrents" that have already proven to be far more effective when reality suddenly becomes very ugly.

 

Here's why, when you need to expel 4 armed men with guns in your house like a boss:

There is a particular mentality in this country to the effect none of us own our property. That our property belongs to others. Strange as it seems, they really do exist. The video shows intruders who lost one to the Chinese woman who killed the intruder trying to take her property from her. She is a brave woman.
