Have you seen the news? Seattle is in just such a situation - a precinct has been abandoned and an autonomous zone established.

If they had done this in a sustainable way in a pre-established rural area I'd probably back them. I likr the idea of local governance if done right, it allows people with good and bad ideas alike to demonstrate that.

But this is in a city center, and covers tens of millions in city and private property. It is not a realistic effort at autonomy, just an insurrection against the state to compel change - change that varies from almost universal support to undermining our rights all across the Western world in the name of a cult ideology.

It is clearly settled law that the President has the power to invoke the Insurrection Act in such a situation. Personally I don't think he should, as thr ensuing economic collapse in these cities and states will very shortly compel mayors and governors to restore order or leave office.

Either way, protests need to be on an equal footing, there cannot be preference to a certain protest because of political speech. Open it up to everyone.

We don't need a river of blood.

Dealing with problems without violence is messy, it's awkward, it will likely be expensive. But that's going to be massively better than the brutality we've had for centuries to keep a boot on the neck of Blacks.

89 is all they could find?? That’s a minuscule amount in the military. Probably mostly officers looking to become liberal politicians when they get out.

I support protests without prejudice as to the political views of the protestors. As it should be.

But rioters need to be arrested and given hefty prison sentences.

    The controversy isn't about rioters.

I support all peaceful protests. I vehemently oppose all violent rioters.

That doesn't mean that if one rioter shows up at a 10,000 man protest they're all rioters. I believe in individual justice.

Take from that what you will.
