Sanders hasn't been advocating for worker CONTROL everywhere to my knowledge. Just for worker policies which already exist in most western European countries. If that's worker control, I guess.

He wants to issue interest free loans so workers can buy out their employers and create tax breaks for co-ops and employee owned business. That's literally giving the workers control of the means of production. Socialism =/= Stalinism.

They break the law by violating their mandate.

That’s wack-a-doodle. Why would anyone incentivize that ?? Why would anyone think that would be a good government policy ??

Because that's socialism and Sanders is a socialist. Besides, employee owned businesses tend to be more productive and profitable since employees have a higher financial stake than simply showing up for a few hours.

Socialism is government control of businesses. What data supports the assertion that employee owned businesses are more productive and profitable ??

In that case we will just have to drag them kicking and screaming off the edge. I know they will thank us. ;-)

Yes really. Government control is, depending on how it's structured, either state capitalism or fascism. That definition (And why the hell are you getting an idea of a deep political and economic theory from a ****ing dictionary?!) was formulated during the Cold War and in reference to the Soviet Union. If you insist on boiling down socialism into something that fits on a bumper sticker, it should be this: An economic system where those who create wealth control wealth. The state is irrelevant in in the case of libertarian socialism and communism, it's something that should actively be avoided.

My understanding is that voters pretty much stayed home and so the incumbent being ousted was just one of those things rather than the Will of the People in action. It is a hoot and a half, however; since the ousted politician was all set to replace senile ol' Nancy Pelosi and now the Left is going to remain stuck with the increasingly mentally unstable example of the Left's leadership.

It was a landslide in Ocasio-Cortez's favor. Crowley phoned it in and didn't even bother showing up to the debate.

You're probably right but the Speaker doesn't actually have to be a Representative. Just over 35 and a citizen that's held residency in the US for the last 14 years (so they can assume the presidency if needed). There's nothing stopping his being elected Speaker so long as the Dems have the votes to block any Repub opposition. But as I said, you're probably right as such a move would be a huge break from the norm and his losing a primary would damage his Speakership.

The dictionary accurately define what socialism is. Socialism has failed. All states have been moving away from command-control economic systems toward capitalism (read The Commanding Heights). The problem with the utopian system that you describe is that a strong leader is required to make it work. What could go wrong ??

Control economies aren't socialist. Socialist economies are democratic as businesses are run collectively by the workers.

Why are the countries of the world all moving toward capitalism ?? It’s because socialism produces inferior growth. And yes command-control is socialism.

They're not. Europe is split between fascist and socialist governments, the UK and Germany are the only capitalist nations left there. SA is socialist. Russia is fascist. China is 'Communist'. Africa is mostly socialist (but socially conservative). NA, like Europe is split between socialists and fascists except for a still capitalist (but SocDem) Canada. Capitalism collapsed in 2009.
