Changing their main prayer to the following would be a good, caring, loving idea, and Christians would increase their level of morality.....no one loses:
"Jesus, please be even more moral than you currently are by changing your ways to allow very moral NON-Christians into heaven too - such as Gandhi, since they do not deserve eternal torture. I'll feel guilty in heaven, while a very moral non-Christian who was actually more moral than me, screams in agony forever. Amen."

This will clear their conscience, too.

So you feel that Jesus is too immoral to consider this prayer, eh? If a prayer to get Jesus to be more moral won't work, then why do you feel your mundane prayers to him to, say, help your garden grow, or do well on the all-important 3rd grade math test, would actually be helpful? Apparently Jesus doesn't understand the word "priorities". Torturing Gandhi: good. Changing his ways to be more moral: bad, bad, BAD!

Christians don't seem MORAL enough to say this prayer, I believe. If my "god" tortured innocent children who simply were of a different religion, then I too would not be a very moral person. This prayer is one way for Christians to be more moral. But do they even CARE about morality? I don't know. Maybe they are MORE guided by fear, than even by morality.

Are you absolutely sure that all non-Christians go to hell? I don't think there's anyone saying that. Did someone say that to you?

The supremacist Jesus allegedly said in John 14:6 "No one comes to the Father except through me." In other words, "I'm such a prick that Gandhi, Taikoo, etc. will BURN, BURN, BURN unless they throw reason and critical thinking out the window and bow down before me, me, ME!"

See, without the fear of hell to non-believers, the legend of Jesus has no traction. It's all about fear, and you drank the cool-aid, 'rook. So that's why the word "fear" appears in the Bible around 1100 times, I believe (someone correct me - with a reference - if I'm wrong.) Christians are afraid, very afraid....and that's the way Jesus can get them to drop their objections to the atrocities in the Christian religion (slavery, torture, etc.). Without the fear, they'd say "hey, wait a minute, this book has a talking donkey - and talking snake, and even approves of slavery.....this book is BS, I'm becoming a modern Secular Humanist!" Scared little lambs.

If Jesus was moral, he'd simply have said "all moral people go to heaven, only immoral people go to hell, regardless of which religion they believe in". But he didn't because he's not moral, and he's a supremacist, like Hitler was (Jesus won't let in the Jews, and if Hitler was in Jesus' shoes he obviously wouldn't either....Dawkins would, however....that's because Dawkins is far far more moral than Jesus or Hitler or Allah.)

just handing out the award for best postings of the week, FS. keep up the excellent work!

incidentally, I get a kick out of the fact that no monotheist EVER comes back to defend the immorality when it's spotlighted so beautifully. how in jebus name do they reconcile it all?

he's very good at worshipping his dads. the sky one and the sperm one. I'm guessing there's a cultural tendency to filial piety prompting non-questioning acceptance of parental notions ... even well beyond the age when it's reasonable. this would explain things. 'sperm dad says sky dad is more important than anything ... even family, so I'd better do as he says. mutual exclusions notwithstanding'

I really appreciate that, crank. Glad to have you on the forum.

This is the second post of mine in the last 15 minutes that you've gushed with praise over, so uh, do be careful, or people will begin to think that I log out, then log back in as "crank", then mentally ejaculate over my own recent posts, then log back out, then log back in as FS, then repeat..... :)
