Yes and laws fall too. I live in one of those western states that honors concealed carry from most all other states. Chances are you could visit my state and carry concealed legally. Another one of those things changing in favor of the pro gun crowd.

Not really an opinion, it is the law. You know how the Second Amendment reads: "shall not be infringed". It is only your incorrect opinion and the incorrect opinion of "the vast majority" that is, yes, incorrect.

That you have the right to bear arms. And like all right the government can restrict it if compelling interest is shown

 

Which means nothing if they are at the state level, as a common refrain of those who support greater firearm-related restrictions, is that federal laws are needed because local laws are simply too easy to violate by going into a different state. Therefore nothing is actually being done by these states.

Of course states can pass gun laws. But they also must meet compelling interest

 

Also, as the "Government" is actually the people, can the people override the governmental laws if they don't like them?

Exactly! So all the un-gun crowd should stop their bitching when Congress fails to pass more restrictive gun laws. After all those are the people's elected representatives.

 

And when they do pass gun control laws like they did in the last election you will also stop complaining

 

Well... The Constitution indicates that "powers not delegated to the United States..........". And it would seem that the ownership of arms was a power delegated to the U.S. by the Second Amendment.

 

I don't know of a single legal scholar that has that interpretation
