Just so you know, I m perfectly content with your view of hatred towards me..
I have explained your misunderstanding perfectly well and will not hinder your service as an example to others any further..

The forum seeks to create a medium for polite and civil discussion.

using hate speech and offensive bigoted epithets makes that goal hard to accomplish.

exactly, that's exactly the argument I am trying to make. We need to destroy this idea that words themselves are offensive but rather the context or intent behind the use of the word makes it offensive.

Does this forum require that you not be offended by what you read, or to be challenged on what constitutes "hate speech"?

    No.

how was I hateful in any way. I am merely trying to get to the heart of the issue of language and whether or not words are offensive or if the intent or context behind the use of a word is offensive. How have I been hateful by doing that?

with all due respect, I don't think you work or own the forum so you do not get to dictate what is and what isn't allowed.

Fortunately not owned by you. You can report posts you find offensive, of course, but I'm guessing the mods are a bit more accommodating than you would be if you owned it.

Offence must be wilfully taken. It cannot be compelled.

Also, being offended is for toddlers. It's merely a 'pout'. Maturity ought to bring with it an end to offence taking.

Just because the person didn't say "all blacks" or "not all blacks" doesn't constitute racism. It just means that they aren't saying either. You are making an assumption based on no critical thinking or logic.

Again, this is the point of my argument. Words aren't offensive the intent or context behind the use of a word is what makes it offensive. Also, if we can't say certain word then we can't get to the heart of certain questions humans have had since the dawn of our existence. The problem with your line of thinking is that it's anti intellectual not intellectual.

    let me restate my point

any forum I would own would ban members who use bigoted epithets, unless they are used in a purely educational and non-aggressive fashion.

do you even know what ad hominem means.

    1. appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect an ad hominem argument
2 : marked by or being an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made
    https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ad hominem

Now please tell me using these two definition how I used an ad hominem attack. I'll wait.

Webster is some what wrong. When it comes to slang word Webster usually never gets it right.

The term "hodad" was coined during the late 50's and 60's in Southern California particular in the South Bay of L.A. County.

Hodads were into hot rods, drag racing may have hanged around the beach during the summer and didn't surf. They never pretended being surfers.

Mature people aren't easily offended. Teenagers and toddlers however, are.

ok whatever, you are clearly not going to listen to reason. If you want to have a reasonable argument without being a troll come talk to me. Other than that I am done responding to you.

i dont know what u said, i don't care what you said.

ive been a member of this forum for years and know they have an almost obsessive commitment to free speech within specific rules and stick to that like white on rice.

i trust they followed their own rules and regs.

Can you supply a few credible sources showing that President Obama was "indoctrinated in Islam in Indonesia?"
