It has NOTHING to do with intelligence and/or gullibility.

Everyone knows that 2 + 2 doesn't equal 5. But some people simply choose to believe it equals 5, because equalling 5 means some kind of pay off for them. It could be as simple as wanting a shiny new thing (toddler style), or not being able to deal with delayed gratification (toddler style), or not wanting to sacrifice vices to save money (toddler style).

Policies won't do a damned thing. But CULTURE sure will. Every new parent must consider this, if we're ever going to see any improvement. Culture starts at home, in every home, on the day we're born.

That is not justification for existing irresponsible behavior... the expectation that personal responsibility is no longer a point of discussion only further devolves us into chaos.

I paid 70K, but that is another story.

It's still within 10% of my bet monthly income, and it's the only vehicle I can fit my family and pull a camper. Regardless, I'm not the one on the internet complaining that it's unfair that I can't afford the payment and others have tricked me into failing 90 days late on the payments.

That's the issue here. You want to spin this around, but the fact remains that while you sit on your soap box saying is terrible that people bitch about others irresponsibility, you get on here and bitch about how unfair it is for people who are irresponsible.

Pot meet kettle. The only difference, I expect people to be responsible and not throw temper tantrums when they reap what they sow. You would rather make excuses for them and blame other people.

It would be the exact same thing, using your argument of unhealthy lifestyles saying it isnt their fault that they have heart diseases and diabetes. The system made them eat unhealthy, smoke, and drink.

    It makes no logical sense.

Is there a gun to people's heads telling them to sign?

I know a guy who just graduated college, makes a mediocre salary, and goes out and buys a loaded charger on a 10 year note.

That's just straight up poor decision making that will haunt him for decades.

Solution: Don't buy a car until you can afford to pay cash.

The Obama administration championed sub prime loans for cars. The left doesn't think personal responsibility counts because they think everyone is stupid. A perfect storm.

Apparentlly, the kids these days call it "adulting". Sucks to be the richest people in the entire history of mankind. Apparently not having a miraculous transportation device is now a hardship? Maybe they should fall back to the 6,000 year standard of oxen.

They deserve those luxuries, in addition to the necessities they petition government to make us pay for

Yes, In their minds they deserve their luxuries.

Do they even know that a person in the US earning over $35,000 is a global 1 percenter? I wonder how they seek to address this obvious wealth inequality.

One thing we can do is have financial management a central theme in high school education. That is what I mean by policies. We also need a course to help students to learn about different careers and what their prospects are.

People are free not to vote. I don't think you should be voting for a candidate unless you have done a thorough analysis of their track record and policy positions.

Right now we don't even have financial education mandatory at any level of our education system.

Isn't SS a retirement plan that was funded through investment by the recipient?
