What if the animal is killed by being struck with a motor vehicle, or died from natural causes, and the rack is salvaged while the carcass is left behind?

Define trophy hunting

its as silly a clam as claiming ten round magazines ought to be banned. BTW how do you stop it? I get a deer tag. I wait until I see a big buck and I shoot it. how are you going to change that-require me to shoot the first deer I see? Now killing something and not using the meat is odious to me unless the animal you kill is a nuisance animal like coyotes raiding livestock or woodchucks digging holes in horse fields

 

From what I know, Most places have these requirements before doing anything to a Deer, even if accidentally killed, hunting season, a Deer tag, valid hunting license.

And you must report an accident with a game animal.

 

And yet they continue their pistol registry

Gun control advocates are often ignorant of the law. They hear a comment out of context, like someone railing about trophy hunting on liberal talk shows or in a pub, other liberals without a clue and picturing Bambi’s father being shot and mounted by the evil hunter, it sounds terrible to them so the regurgitate it. I know a lot of hunters and did several years of sustanance hunting to get through college; I literally couldn’t afford to waste a deer tag without maximizing my harvest and taking care of in harvesting as much meat and using as much of my game as possible including the rack (used for primitive crafts, handle material,and even the hide and etc). Most states I hunted in allowed one license per year. I’ve seen the same of other most other hunters I know. Then too, waiting for that proverbial big buck could also mean you when home empty handed. Hunters don’t take kindly to those that waste game, leaving wounded game untracked, and are generally concerned about preserving game stock populations and their health.
Most gun control types advocating laws regarding hunting (or fishing for that matter) never get further than their supermarket. Yes, most states have laws associated with gun cartridges considered minimum for humane harvest, rules about handling things like road kill, poaching, and waste. Go to Alaska... see the penalties and laws they have had on the books for years. Trophy hunting, I do it; my trophy is how much meat I can stuff into my freezer.
I have hunted all my life... funny, in the EU where I was raised, the are countless animal heads lining walls in pubs and great houses (only the rich could legally hunt in some countries) and as a child thought it silly; I don’t see too many here. But, I can think of a few heads that should be mounted.
