Technically he is right, but technically he is wrong as well. It wouldn't even take a conviction. It just takes the House being willing to take up that task--which it won't.

If the political establishment and its minions insist on harassing Trump with frivolous civil actions I would expect to see more than one special prosecutor quietly supervising extensive grand jury investigations into official corruption for the next 4 years - probably 8.

I am sure I am not the only one who hopes they keep on asking for it. ;-)

No they are not, you weren't around when the SCOTUS said Jones vs Clinton should proceed? You don't think that if Obama strangled Michele in the White House residence he would be charged with a crime and prosecuted?

Yes, after he was impeached by the House and found guilty by the Senate.

Better get used to impeachment talk - Obama supporters have had to deal with it for eight years. Trump supporters are not anything special and
    it comes with the territory.

Welcome to the White House, Mr. President.

No, I won't get 'use to it', never have, never will. I didn't even support the impeachment of bj Billy, although I thought his "cigar routine" in the oval office & lying under oath were deplorable. And, I've never supported the impeach Obama crowd either, although I thought he was pushing the limits of his executive powers.
Impeaching a president is serious business, the notion of it shouldn't be thrown around by the media as if it's just another "option".

NO, based on the context he introduced he's wrong, period. There are zero legal grounds for impeachment based on civil charges prior to him taking office.

No, he's not idiot. He's a loyal liberal & avid Clinton loyalist. George is a smart guy, he's just a lying scumbag...kinda in the mold of James Carville.

What about the felonies he committed in a federal court and federal grand jury?

Although he pushed it to the envelopes with his EO the courts have taken care of them so far and this election will bring about revokings.

Especially when it is based on emotional sour grapes.

Impeachment is a political act not a legal adjudication. The House can impeach for about anything it wants to then the Senate decides if the offense merits removal from office. The "high crimes and misdemeanors" is pretty broad because misdemeanors does not mean a crime in the Constitution but misbehavior like if the President started refusing to attend cabinet meetings and move to Miami and stopped taking phone calls. The Congress could remove him from office. But most likely it will entail something as serious as a criminal act or highly unethical act.

Well, for a start, these Trump University lawsuits are civil suits. But, in a broader sense, yes, you are right -- Stephanopoulos really may be that stupid.... Or, more likely, he really is that much of a totally partisan, radical Democrat cheerleader and shill....

These hyperlibs are beside themselves in panic and grief! They're watching their sick, (*)(*)(*)(*)ed-up little socialism-lite experiment go down in FLAMES. And this huge bonfire was built, primarily, on the utter and complete failure of Obamacare. They have no one but themselves to blame.... But they'll go at Trump with the savagery of wild beasts whose fur is on fire. They'll try anything to tear him down.

But he seems to make a lot of stupid statements, especially lately. That sorta makes him stupid in my book.

Clinton wasn't charged with anything when he was impeached. Nixon wasn't charged with anything when he was about to be impeached. Congress can issue articles of impeachment for having orange hair if they want to declare it a high crime or a misdemeanor. The Senate is the only ones who can check the house on this.

When is Stephanopoulos moving to Australia? If he doesn't go then he's a liar and should never be given any credibility about anything.

"ABC's Stephanopoulos: Trump Civil Suit Conviction Could Be 'Impeachable' "

if Trump tells even one lie under oath, republicans in control of congress woudl be hypocrites if they did not impeach him

    - - - Updated - - -

I think we all know Republicans woudl not do that to someone with a "R" behind their name

now if they postpone it till after the 2018 election, dems may regain control, sure Trump will try to settle though by then so not a issue

""You can't impeach someone for stuff that they did before they became president.""

funny, Republicans were talking about impeaching Hillary for email uses as SOS

that said, I think he was referring to lying under oath which would occur after elected as the trial was postponed

that said, I think he will settle, be stupid to risk a court battle with his mouth

    The question should be

Do you want someone convicted of a crime as a president? Here you cannot even stand for office if you have a conviction. We have just had a senator step down because they were declared bankkrupt
