proved marches to support Sharia in the USA turns out to be FAKED.

Happy to see you agree that it is a FAKE photo, I don't care if you don't,
I challenged the poster to prove it, offered to stop posting, and of course
there has been no response.

You're like 70% of the way to seeing the point I was making about religions and their adherents not being monolithic.

 

Within the context of this discussion, I would say that it is supremacism that motivates theocrats to attempt to impose their laws on a secular, pluralistic society such as our own.

I don't have a problem with people standing up for secularism and pluralism and the fundamental human, civil and political rights that we in the post-Enlightenment West hold dear, and in the case of these protests I think Islamists need to hear that message. This is why I think Obama should have been in Paris to stand for these things with other world leaders after the Charlie Hebdo attack.

How are we supposed to counter jihadist groups like AQ and ISIS and Islamist groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and Hizb ut-Tahrir on the ideological front if we don't articulate, promote and defend our values?

 

We have been countering extremism, Islamic extremism, since 9/11/01. That has nothing to do with the nitwits that think Sharia can become law in the US. Weak attempt at diversion.

Because as far as the Sharia protests go, they're a waste of time because that's never gonna happen, and honestly both forum members and people actually protesting this who claim its all for defending their values are really just defending their bigotry.

 

None of which changes the fact that, more often than not, the ones who are responsible for carrying out terrorism-related attacks in various countries, are overwhelmingly practitioners of the sharia religion.

 

Yet Sharia has never even come close to being a reality here.

 

And yet it exists in the united states, and there is no way of telling how many practitioners are currently present in the united states, legally or otherwise.
