The Afghan forces were trained in the ways of the American military and they folded completely, shortly after the Taliban started their offensive. I worry, see what happens when US Troops don't eat for a week. They will be just as gone as the Afghan military.
Never happen. Not in a real fight. Russia's cyber war that has been going on for decades is what we are not meeting competently. That's what you need to wory about; not OUR young men and women in the service; they will do their job. Count on it.
Well, we do have over 30,000,000 Trump QANON cultists living among us. All of them clamoring for free access to military style weaponry with large capacity magazines and armor piercing ammo. Trump has been dumped and humiliated but that does not change the fact that he has created an army of American Taliban style imbeciles some of whom are now “serving” in the US Congress. We saw a little glimpse of what they are on January 6 and in the plans to kidnap and kill the governor of Michigan. Sure they are stupid and loudmouthed, but what is happening right now in Kabul is their ultimate dream. Even more of these cultists have taken control of State Houses throughout the US and are in the process of taking control of the vote counting process in counties that don’t vote their way. Like old Joe Stalin said: “It matters not who votes, only who counts the votes”. We need to be vigilant regarding these crazed well armed cultists lest we see them some day in the future trolling around, armed to the teeth in Dodge pickups and army suits around the streets of the US.
You guys should really stop stressing over Trump. He sure doesn’t go quietly but he’s still gone. Time to focus on the future. Let’s hope Joe does a better job than he’s been doing I’m more interested in what Biden is doing then I am In history
Exactly! The US had every right after 9/11 to go into Afghanistan and go after Al Qaeda and OBL, but it was plainly obvious the Bush administration had ulterior motives as they only initially had 10K troops doing the job and all the strategic planning was for Iraq, not Afghanistan. That diversion was what cost us from getting OBL sooner and cemented our presence there for 20 years. I knew it from 2002 this was going to happen. We appear to never learn from our blatant mistakes.
I agree. Now that the whole “MSM is a Democrat shill and only picks on Republicans” crap has been blown out of the water,(the whole press corp have their claws out and are attacking the Biden administration with both barrels) let’s see how Biden responds starting later today. If he starts calling them fake news and saying they are the enemy of the people, I will be the first to trash him. I would also hope that he actually admits that he and his team made mistakes and miscalculations regarding the withdrawal from Afghanistan. I guess we will see how he handles this crisis in a couple hours. Hopefully he and his team will have a plan to mitigate the circumstances in Afghanistan going forward.
The whole gambit was engineered in order to get control over all that sweet crude in Iraq from the beginning. I remember Cheney held a big secret meeting with a bunch of old oil boys in early 2001 in which different oil magnates bid on all of the best Iraqi oil fields. Cheney refused to release the details of that meeting. Then, while the crack National security team appointed by Cheney sat there with their thumbs up their ass we got hit on 9/11. Then they started beating the drums for war in Iraq. None of that was a mistake, it was the neoCON plan all along. Look up PNAC....
Yep. That's the incredible thing! PNAC was their blueprint and anyone who bothered to read it could see the future that has come to pass. That's the ONLY good thing in this whole debacle, they wrote it down, followed it, and didn't even try to hide it.
....and American taxpayers paid trillions and got nothing in return. Tens of thousands of American Soldiers were killed or maimed not to mention 100,000s of Iraqi and Afghan civilians.
