That wasn't true from 59-61. For those three years both parents had to be US citizens. Otherwise it has always been true that one parent is all you need.

We have ample evidence that he was born in Hawaii. The Governor then knew his parents and remembers Obama's birth. The nurse who delivered him remembers his birth. The announcement of his birth was in the local paper. He has both long and short form birth certificates. There is NO evidence of his mother leaving Kenya with a child or entering the US with a child. There are no birth records showing he was born in Kenya.

This entire argument is nuts. We have as much evidence as anyone could have that he was born in Hawaii and zero evidence he was born in Kenya.

In 2008 I went back and looked thinking he's automatically American by birth, and found the three year deviation from the norm. Too much work to bother but it's a fact. You have to go back and look at historical records.

If it were challenged it would likely never stand up in court. There is an established precedent that one parent is all you need. By any reasonable measure, even if he was born in Kenya he would still be an American by birth.

 

Obama isn't black. He is mulatto.
