I hope that we never get to the point of having our weapons confiscated. I am a realist and understand that the pressure for some form of checks and or restrictions can happen in the near future. I would rather lose the right to have a 100 round magazine than lose the right to have a semi automatic weapon.

I know that? We can get a license to have a fully automatic weapon but under certain restrictions. Of California has had restrictions on magazine size. WhatbInam talking about is restrictions on the country wide level. That will not happen for a while.

What Infear is the pendulum effect. If go crazy and allow 100 then 200 then 500 round magazines we are going to push the envelope too far and it can swing back and slam us. Of from practical aspects a 500 round magazine would be way to big to be maneuverable.

 

You’d think we’d be the safest nation with the fewest gun deaths.

Anything that restricts the right wing extremists from getting a gun is frowned upon.

 

I have not read that level of detail yet but not only would confiscation be a big arsed mistake it would be impractical all. We could end up with thousands of Ruby Ridges. Not a good thing.

To murder 20 people with a knife and not be stopped would be very very difficult. What I would be worried about is suicide vests. Of course the right wing White Supremacists are not prone to murder suicide with explosive at least not yet. Of McVeigh did do 25 or do years ago. Good that Western cult religions do not promise 40 virgins to a suicide murderer or maybe we just cannot make the argument that there are that many to be had.

 

I think that you could convince the general public that 100 round capacity mags is a no no especially if we have another incident such a Dayton soon.

 

I know it was stated in your post but I have heard any even mid range Democratic candidate say that. I think that the old crazy Socialist who runs as a Democrat every four years may have said confiscation. Or was it that he said he had constipation.

 

Right now we’re a gun culture. We have almost un restricted access to guns. Why bother with explosives. Besides, many of theses really far right domestic extremist, just like the foreign born, have a high rate of blowing themselves up.

 

So now you’re an FBI agent ? You think you need all their capabilities ? Are you going after the mafioso or the drug cartels ? We didn’t know you were an agent.

 

Then such would ultimately mean that if firearms are restricted, the extremist killings will continue unabated, with the only change being in the manner in which the killings are committed.

Therefore, what meaningful difference would such an effort ultimately make?
