Al Franken accused of sexual misconduct

If Franken had been accused of kissing s MINOR...he'd already be gone. No Dem would be supporting him

I hope so too. And my position is that that's up to the voters in both cases.

But, on the same token, if somebody is going to excuse a sexual predator who harassed minors, based on the childish actions of somebody with an adult. (who has already publicly accepted his apologies and forgiven him).. then they should not use morals as an argument, and most definitely stay away from calling somebody a hypocrite.

Actually I care. What Franken did was grossly inappropriate and wrong and he has said as much.

Should another allegation of this sort come to light I would call for his resignation.

That said, I am sure that the hypocrites of the RW Fever Swamp will hammer this issue (all the while supporting a PEDO and a P-Grabber).

Franken, though he rightly apologized, says he doesn't remember the rehearsal kissing incident the same way as Tweedon does...perhaps further explanation is to come.

The photo, though tacky, and he admits he shouldn't of done it, seems like nothing more than a stupid joke...he's not actually touching her.

 

Putting aside the word 'attack' for now as possible hyberbole. If there is A. a space of time (years)between the 'incidents' and today and B. there is not a bone fide pattern of conduct established (habitual and similar) and there is C. a sincere and early expression of remorse/ shame and D. some semblance of an act of penitence, then forgiveness and mercy are not unreasonable because there is a semi-real chance that the conduct will not happen again. the problem with Moore is it is way too late to believe in his sincerity and remorse. His first, second, third and fourth reactions were denial, defensiveness, counter-attack and distract. You cannot sell a late 'conversion' to contrition to me at least.

 

I don't really think apologies matter one way or the other...except, perhaps, to the parties involved.

 

So when its a minor, then sexual abuse is not tolerated by "progressives", but when the victim is an adult then sexual abuse is ok. Got it. That explains why Bill Clinton could rape women and "progressives" supported him and think he was a wonderful guy, and it explains why Weinstein went for so many years raping and abusing so many women and "progressives" thought he was the greatest guy in Hollywood.

The burden of proof is pretty darn low outside of a courtroom, and I think the burden for a vote in a political race has been met. As for Franken, not sure exactly what he is guilty of yet except it is in between very crass and inappropriate humor and groping. Not even sure what he has pled guilty to, except he has called for his own behavior to be investigated. I can wait to draw conclusions and demand a pound of flesh until that GOP led investigation finishes. Thanks for the offer to beat YOUR deadline though.
