I can see its its political to you. Most people here are simply discussing what happened

I have read quite a few articles about this, and none "defend" him, or place blame on someone else. It is factually correct, that the armorer gave him a loaded gun which he then fired in the set and the round hit the crew behind the camera. Should he have checked the firearm? Yes, but as you mention he knows nothing about firearms. Should the armorer have checked it? Yes, its his job. If they are filing charges, the armorer will likely share the blame. This is not a political issue, unless you insist on making it into one, and it seems some people are hell bent on making everything into a political issue.

"Negligent homicide is a criminal charge brought against a person who, through criminal negligence, allows another person to die."

    Involuntary Manslaughter is a possibility.

Yes, but this is obviously not a normal situation, since pulling the trigger was actually his job, since they were making a movie which involved shooting. If I gave you a loaded gun and told you its empty, and you fired it hitting someone, I would be in trouble as well.

Yes, but cocking the gun and firing it was what he was supposed to do, since that is what they were filming. It turned out the gun was loaded and the bullet struck the crew.

    It was an accident

I get it that is how you see everything (RW are victims), but I seriously doubt that it would be the case. It this was Clint Eastwood, the reaction would be same. No one would be demanding him to be charged with homicide.

Gun safety training should be mandatory for everyone that has access to a gun capable of shooting a live round

should it be a felony to leave loaded guns around anybody without such training?

Whoever( I assume the Armorer) placed the gun on the cart didn't check it. The assistance Director who took the gun from the cart and gave it to Baldwin didn't check it. And Baldwin who received the gun from the assistant Director didn't check it. Consequently, Hutchins lost every minute of her whole life because no one took one minute out of their day to check the gun. Rush, rush, rush. We all live a great part of our lives this way, hurrying. And it is a wonder any of us are still here.

    lol

Me pointing this out clearly gets under your skin. No, it's not political to me in the slightest. It's about gun safety, period.

Oh… so actors aren’t required to check a gun or know how to handle one for for safety? Where is this written as an exemption to manslaughter or reckless discharge of a firearm?

They think the laws that are written for manslaughter or reckless discharge of a firearm have some exemption written in them for workplace accidents or something. It’s amazing

It is a real gun as a prop, not a prop gun.

It doesn’t matter. If I found a gun and picked it up or was even told it was safe then killed someone I would be charged and jailed immediately.

do you remember the YouTuber who was killed by his girlfriend because he held a book in front of him believing it would stop a bullet? He held the book, he told her to fire a loaded weapon at him, she did as told, book failed to stop bullet, he died.

that was a prop as well, she was told it would be a safe shot, she killed him. In the end she was charged with second degree manslaughter. Ultimately the shooter is responsible for handling, not anyone who told them it would be safe.

Is it any different from any other vacillating immoral standard they have?

Lmao at the prop gun. What is the difference between a real gun and a prop gun if they’re both capable of firing projectiles?

That’s why you always verify when using real guns.

Real guns can have fake bullets too. There is no difference if they both can fire projectiles. Maybe your mixing up prop bullets with a prop gun

I suppose I will keep my AR-15 when they ban it and just tell them it’s only a prop gun. Lol

they did not "find" a gun, they got a gun from a cart that was supposed to already have been inspected by someone hired to do just that

did the YouTuber have someone hired to do that job for them? had they, I would blame the person they hired - also the youtuber knew there was a bullet in it

It doesn’t matter, no law has an exemption because of ignorance.

Still does not change basic gun safety.
