You are the one getting personally upset over who didn't show up to Trump's parties. When it came to legislation or Supreme Court, Trump went nuclear and refused to work with Dems. On DACA and the wall Dems and Reps came up with deal after deal and Trump rejected every one, even though he agreed to them before they were offered.

I don't get how this is a huge deal, first of all she has been solely running on a campaign for the past several months and not receiving an income. She isn't married, she isn't at an age where she has saved a lot of capital, she probably has student debt like every other millennial. This is just a classist and agist talking point, most people elected to the Senate are wealthy and guess whose interests they end up serving. And most who have been elected historically are old wealthy white men, and now that we have a young Hispanic woman who isn't wealthy joining up it is the talk of the town on how she can't afford rent in one of the wealthiest areas because the wealthy old white men have for so long served private interests that the lobbyists are overcrowding and driving up costs of living. I'm not necessarily a fan of hers, but as another millennial I think the reactions to this are just sheer ignorance about the average financial situation for my generation. Did baby boomers have over 1.5 trillion in student debt, just to get a foot in the door regarding employment? I think not.

    Absolutely

How do you reduce debt and take a cut in pay?

    *hint* spend less

One of the common fallacies of people that don't have enough money is that its an earning problem. Its rarely an earning issue that keeps people from gaining wealth. Its a spending problem.

    Spending sir. Cut spending.

We spend 35% of our budget on social programs. Combine that with Social Security spending, (which isn't really spending since that money was paid in by citizens to only get it back from the government) and we spend nearly 60% on "taking care of people".

We only pay 6% on debt, which is really pretty good. Our defense spending, which liberals like to hold up as an excess expensive only accounts for 16% of spending.

We have a SPENDING problem, taking care of too many people cradle to grave.

Never called Bush Jr. Hitler. Voted for Bush Sr. and Jr. I give true Repubs respect. I do not give phony people, be they phony wannabe Repubs (Trump flock), or Dems, respect. As long as that con-man Trump is in office, I will be supporting true Republicans and Democrats. So try to get it right this time.

Wrong.....the Repubs have been divided long before Trump came along. The ones sabotaging The Republican Party are those Neo Cons and Never Trumpers. Who thought it was okay to vote for Hillary and Democrats. Until they get back in power.

That is why Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard has been getting that mental check since Trumps inauguration.

Do try and stay informed with Politics for a change.

The movement for the "little guy" laughs and scoffs when someone actually working class gets in office. Very telling.

Most people who call themselves socialists, just want more socialism. Just like rights against socialism just want less socialism. They still want public services.

Europe only has private industry still because they know we'd stop defending them. You can't have national defense and socialism, its just not possible...

There are no Socialist economies in the world, most economies Rightists call Socialist are dominated by private enterprises. Venezeula and the Nordic countries for instance, it is mostly just State Capitalism with varying degrees of democratic representation. The kind of people here are Far Right Boomers who still have a delusional hatred from a bygone era, none of them actually know anything beyond the Left beyond the crazy conspiracies rattled off by their thought leaders.

Europe has private industry because they are and always have been Capitalist. They only were afforded Social Democracy during the Cold War era because of US commitments to Continental Europe which allowed them to invest more in Social programs which also weakened the Soviet Union when they heard about the living standards in Europe afforded by such policies. Now that the Cold War is over and Europe is fragmenting and becoming more Nationalistic, their military investment will increase, Nationalized industries will be privatized and Social Programs will be cut for sake of austerity. Social Democracy in Europe is dying and it never really had a chance in the US, let alone Socialism which is worker ownership of the means of production, that will likely never come about.

We need far more of them. We are certainly not getting rid of the ones we have

We have some leftover Welfare Capitalist policies from the New Dealers, who were not at all Socialists. Socialism is about democratization of the work place and emancipation of prolitariet, not providing a safety net for the prolitariet to endure Capitalist exploitation. These people were trying to save Capitalism, not introduce Socialism and it should not be confused as such.

No we don't, decreasing socialist nonsense is the best path forward, we need to remove the government's interference in our lives even more, not add them to it...
