    FIRST ON 7: Labor's new 'attack ad' has come under scrutiny from fact-checking agency PolitiFact.

    The advertisement claims a Coalition Government would hit jobs, education, penalty rates and super.

    "If he [Abbott] wins, you lose," according to the ad.

    PolitiFact examined five claims; Two were rated 'true' and one too vague to rule on.

    But public service job cuts are meant to be by attrition, not sacking.

    So saying 12,000 people will lose their jobs' was rated 'mostly false'.

    And the Coalition has agreed to fund the Better Schools Plan for at least four years.
    So saying Mr Abbott would 'cut billions from education' was also rated 'mostly false'.

    ========================================================================================

    Mostly false. More of the same here, and progressively more Australians are waking up to the fact that the ALP in it`s present form, lacks credibility, and substance. I recall an attack poodle, distraught over the new PC sin, "negativity", simpering for sympathy, crying over the fact that the opposition were doing their job. The job that the ALP made so easy for the opposition.

    The government of the day sets the height of the bar, the standard of government, to a point. The electorate however, also has input in the quality of government, the final say in fact. Voters with closed minds, simple followers of any given party, sheeple who are prepared to ignore accountability, who put their own selfish interests above the overall good of the country, are even more responsible for a low standard of government, than the actual politicians. They set the benchmark for the politicians.

    Hopefully, there are enough Australians, who will refuse to accept the low standard of recent years, this country needs Statesmanship, not Salesmanship. The conservatives are also showing signs of weakness. Candidates who aren`t up to speed on simple issues and policies. There will always be some, who expect to benefit from the low standard set by the ALP. Not good enough.
